I agree but I think realistically teams educating their players is returnable. I'm not sure about the location of all the teams facilities but I imagine they are all relatively close. If the cost for each team is too much build an educational facility for three or four teams and invest in your employees. Successful employers invest in their employees who then can benefit the organizations they work for.
I think that offering an education to these guys to go along with their baseball training makes so much sense. I don't think it would take THAT much time away from baseball and I think it would make the transition to the states a lot easier.
I'm just throwing out an idea here but have any of the mods/admin thought of trying to get hotels or bars to sponsor a little bit of the board? I'm not talking about huge banners but like, go to a bar near the stadium and mention this board and get $1 off a beer or something and somehow the board gets a little bit of money to deal with upkeep? Same with rooms for out-of-towners.
I hope Pillar is for real. When was the last time we had a good 4th outfielder that can hit at a decent clip and you could use as a defensive replacement (not Davis).
I got to see him play in Vancouver when I went up there to visit. My brother just kept asking who that goofy lookin' guy was.
It was also a funny game filled with so many errors that we couldn't stop laughing.
When I first got it I was upset that they showed the score of the games until I realized I could turn off that feature. I share the cost with my brother and it's nice that I can watch any game without having to worry about what time it starts.
Well I think a lot of it has to do with what kind of rookies they are. The position players are guys who can hit for contact and are relatively solid in the field. Pillar and Travis don't seem like the type to just be swinging for the fences. I'm a little worried about the pitchers through but Castro looked good today.
As a precaution. You wouldn't want to invest tens of millions of dollars into something that could show signs of breaking. Putting Kluber through a physical will give the team doctors time to determine if his arm is likely to hold up during the length of the contract. (No minor tears, bone chips, etc)
1) Jays
2) Sox
3) Orioles
4) Yanks
5) Rays
That's how I think it will end up. If we get hit with a lot of injuries (Bats, EE, Donaldson, Dickey, Bur.) I think we fall to 2nd because our depth isn't nearly as good as the Sox.
Bought my dad a 10 game flex pack to the local Atlantic League Lancaster Barnstormers. I've noticed Chad Beck, Zach Jackson, and David Cooper are on the roster.
