  1. Shapiro as the president or senior GM/consultant type guy with AA as the active GM would've been interesting.
  2. This FO still hasn't really had the chance to put their stamp on the team yet. They've been trying to finesse the roster they inherited from AA and extend the competitive window while building up the system. We'll see what happens in the next 2-3 years.
  3. Salty hitting fifth.
  4. It would explain his extremely subpar stats.
  5. Well the Jays have really pretty uniforms at least.
  6. Yeah it's not so much the 2-10 start, it's everything else. It's early, and if we woke up tomorrow with the 2015 Jays they'd have a ton of time to right the ship. But this team is not anywhere near that. It looks old, in decline, and now the injuries are piling up.
  7. You might as well trade Osuna as well unless you're looking to turn him into a starter. There's really no point in hanging onto elite relievers on a rebuilding team.
  8. I heard that as well from a few places but it was never really confirmed.
  9. It's looking that way.
  10. Happ left with left elbow soreness.
  11. Yea. Well I think most people thought this would be at least a fringe wildcard contender and not as bad as it looks they are. But with the age of the roster and everything I was fine with them not overbidding for Fowler or bringing back Edwin. They were simply going to have to reset and get younger at some point.
  12. I mean they aren't going to tank before the season even begins, and tank for several years. Rogers wants the Jays to be at least quasi-competitive.
  13. Blue Jays hr: 6 Eric Thames hr: 6
  14. I doubt they will. Rogers doesn't want the team tanking completely. Too many lost eyeballs.
  15. Yeah I know there was no chance that was ever happening. But apparently that's what he was looking for, which looks really funny in retrospect.
  16. We should be glad the Jays didn't sign him to 5 years $150M or whatever he was asking last spring.
  17. No kidding. Huge break they didn't put Brach in there.
  18. Could you imagine if they had signed Bau to a huge deal like he wanted last spring training? Oy.
