  1. Jays are really hitting, but the Yanks pitching is good. We get Kuroda and CC in this series too. Also have lost 9 straight games in New York, and 11 of the last 12. Due for some wins?
  2. The Jays currently lead the AL in homeruns, but are ahead of only Seattle and Chicago in runs scored/game :/
  3. The other thing is, Lawrie looked a lot quieter at the plate when he first came up 2011. He seems so twitchy now: a lot of moving, jumping parts. It also seems he has a swing hitch. So many pitches that he used to turn on and drive, he's behind and popping up or fouling off now. He just doesn't really look that good at the plate.
  4. More and more I agree. I think the Jays aren't winning anything with JPA as the catcher. And there are a lot of other problems.
  5. Getting no help from anyone else, naturally. I hate the AL East.
  6. That'll be nearly impossible. Honestly, if this team can get back to .500 by early July or so that would be quite impressive. Ideally they do that and add Reyes and then can go on a bit of a run in the second half, at least for a wildcard.
  7. This is why I laughed when people were predicting a fall for the NYY before the season due to their age and injuries. I'll believe it when I see it. The stupid thing is, they're doing it with a lineup full of ex-Blue Jays and crap like Eduardo Nunez (now injured himself) and Chris Stewart. And ancient players: people were making fun of Ramon Ortiz's age the other day before his start, but he's younger than both Pettitte and Rivera. If the Jays were throwing that lineup out there they'd probably be terrible. And people would be saying no wonder, it's full of old guys and has beens and never weres.
  8. I don't know if it's a Murphy Effect or just the kind of players they have. They've had the low avg low obp high power offense for quite a while. I'm still skeptical of the idea a hitting coach can actually change a player to that degree. I'm just waiting for that to happen. It's the Blue Jays style of hitting, just taken to the utmost extreme. It would be pretty funny.
  9. It might be over for Ricky. This is tough.
  10. I agree. Although I have to say I'm becoming increasingly skeptical of AA's GMing abilities. Will he recognize the right thing to do? Luckily I don't think Rogers would sign off on a total tear down at this point. They just invested quite a bit in this team and I doubt they would want it blown up so soon. I suspect we're going to get some retooling and go for it again next year.
