    Gibby's lineup today has me more hopeful. I'm revising to 87 wins.

    The big thing with this team is health. We've got a relatively deep lineup and a deep rotation but no depth behind the starters at all. We are paper thin at damn near every position. If we stay healthy we will compete. If we get even moderate injury problems I think it tanks our chances moreso than other teams. Last year the health was impeccable, especially in the rotation.

    Buck Showalter is playing checkers by using traditional and dated moves like not using your closer unless you have a lead. Gibby is mustering the most he can out of 1B and LF by playing underwater interdemensional 4D Chess. Jays will win this game 5-4 on the strength of John Gibbons' brainpower.

    All offseason Atkins was saying stuff like this so forgive me if I'm pleasantly surprised when its Opening Day and Smoak is on the bench.

    Given the comments from the FO all offseason against RHP I thought we might see Zeke and Smoak.

    Yes Pearce most definitely should play but there was no guarantee that they would do so, especially against RHP and at 1B over Smoak who Shatkins has been fellating ever since they took over. Zeke over Smoak is a better decision as well if you want to frame it that way.

    Damn nice lineup by Gibby most notably for giving Pearce the call over Smoak. Him reading fangraphs this offseason is paying off.

    Bolsinger was placed on waivers. Wow. Looks like they chose Tepera over him? I have no idea what this FO is doing with the final touches to the roster.

    Upton (along with Pearce at 1B) represents our only chance to actually have league average production at LF and 1B. Goins is a worse version of Barney.

    Roster cuts coming tomorrow. Heyman is saying that Upton is on the bubble. I don't trust Heyman though.

    I hate to see guys get hurt but if it's something that doesn't require surgery and it happens to one of our rivals for the WC then I'm not too upset about it.

    And it's so frustrating because with the abundance of 1B/LF options this offseason it would have been so easy to fill those two holes. If we miss the playoffs by a couple of games this year it's going to be pretty easy to point to those two positions and ask why they weren't addressed this offseason.

    Just got a notification from TheScore that Rougned Odor received "two elite horses" as a part of his extension. Seems a little weird but those things are worth some money right?
