  1. Yeah he's definitely teasing something. Maybe he'll occasionally be one of the guest commentators that is mentioned in the article?
  2. http://media.sportsnet.ca/2018/03/the-sounds-of-summer-ben-wagner-dan-shulman-join-sportsnets-blue-jays-radio-broadcast-team/ Wagner will be joining Wilner. Shulman will also be doing some radio games. Sidall joins Campbell in the studio.
  3. I hope so. Seems to be the consensus that he'll somehow be a lot better than he was and I hope that comes true but I do think he's going to have to make some real adjustments to get there. Most guys aren't able to make them.
  4. So among the DH and corner OF types we have the following: -Grichuk -Pearce -Granderson -Morales -Teoscar Teoscar might be the best of that bunch. We'll probably see him move up from Buffalo pretty quickly whether it's due to injury or performance.
  5. Yeah metafour and BTS make good points. 85 mph isn't even that much of an outlier for high school baseball. There are thousands of high schoolers who can do it and aren't even getting sniffed at to play low level college baseball. So just because a woman can throw 85 mph doesn't mean much. In order for it to mean something she has to throw an 85 mph baseball better than 99.9% of everyone who can throw 85.
  6. All the players she mentions are bad examples. Eckstein was a good player for a few years despite his size and arm strength. He's one of a kind. Altuve too. Weaver was a joke when his fastball dipped.
  7. According to "their" research, the answer is an emphatic yes. Only the scouting patriarchy is holding these women back.
  8. I could start using cuck again but I'd prefer not to.
  9. But the writers at Fangraphs long for a female slap-hitting 2B.
  10. He always thought statheads were a bunch of soy boys anyway. In his mind this just confirms it.
  11. I wonder if the shakeup over there was due to Fangraphs taking a woke turn. Maybe Eno Sarris and authors saw what was going to happen and decided to bail rather than be a part of it.
  12. Boycott fangraphs.
  13. The clicks and views will spike momentarily for the spectacle of it all but in the long run it's not going to help.
  14. If they were serious they would focus on a woman making it as a GM, something a girl could clearly do. Write something on Kim Ngo or interview her. Try to get her to occasionally write for the site even. Instead they hire the baseball Lena Dunham. lol
  15. Fangraphs sucks. Their decision to go this route is insane and whoever is calling the shots over there should be canned. Unless some liberal billionaire is paying them to do this it makes no sense. There simply aren't enough baseball loving soyboys and feminazis to make up for alienating your current readership which consist of hardcore baseball fans who love stats. How many hardcore baseball fans love subjective culture war discussions to go along with their baseball stats? My guess is not many. I will still visit the site because I'm a sucker for seeing the Steamer projections but if anyone has an alternative please let me know so I can dump them. I get they wanted to add to views and clicks but why they thought going this route would be a good idea makes no sense to me. They should have brought back some sort of revamped Notgraphs page and employed people like MLB did with Cespedes Familly BBQ. Instead they hired a misandrist who thinks most men are rapists or complicit in rape. My guess is Fangraphs' readership is 90% male or more. I'm really glad you guys let them know how we feel. I would love to do something to let Fangraphs know that the majority of their readership will not stand for s*** like this.
  16. We did pick up Sam Gaviglio recently. He is projected to be a good enough #7 starter type according to Steamer and Zips.
  17. Agreed. He could be one of our better position players.
  18. If the writer of that article were serious she would have written about a woman becoming a GM (which will likely happen eventually) or written about the accomplishments of Kim Ngo. Instead she writes about the first woman to play baseball, a person who likely isn't alive yet. Fangraphs is losing it!
  19. Right next to the old one I believe. It's where Jerry Jones put his stadium too. The city of Arlington cuts the owner's sweetheart deals to attract them to the city. Arlington is right in between Ft. Worth and Dallas, both of which are pretty fun times. Arlington though is kind of a downtrodden suburb.
  20. We have Fangraphs and Rotographs. Can't wait for the sister site, Wokegraphs where we get to see the latest woke takes from the baseball community.
  21. It's a site dedicated to advanced statistics. Why not hire capable women to write about that? Are there none? I looked at all of her articles and not one of them was about stats. It was all horseshit stuff like this or "What If Baseball Had a Penalty Box?" Check this out LOL:
  22. Geezus f***. They finally hire a woman to write for them and this happens. LOL
  23. That's a pretty nifty upgrade. Dermody is pretty worthless as all he can do is pitch in relief and he's not even good at it. Gaviglio isn't good either but he could provide replacement level to slightly above replacement level WAR as a SP. Stuff could play up in the pen perhaps.
  24. Agree on Arlington. If you just straight up compare the park itself it to RC it's better. But RC does have the dome, as prehistoric as it is, and it's in a waaaay better location. Arlington is a dump with almost nothing to do near there. I went to the ALDS games there a couple of years ago and it was boring as hell. Maybe that type of location appeals to people who want to drive to the game and park and then go home when it's done? As opposed to dealing with a downtown.
  25. That's what I thought Cobb would get before the market tanked. Nice deal for him.
