  1. Thank you for doing the right thing, sir. Anybody else want to step up?
  2. Studies show that teams traveling from West to East perform worse than teams traveling East to West. If the Mariners skate by the Tigers that could give us a slight nudge. https://www.si.com/edge/2017/01/25/jet-lag-athletes-performance-major-league-baseball?utm_source=chatgpt.com
  3. So far only Jonn has had the courage to stand up and do the right thing.
  4. Injuries and declines are often intertwined
  5. No doubt the 'roids and goldilocks balls are doing everything they can to keep his peak going. But his eyesight and athleticism could go at any minute at which point they are running two Stanton's out there every game.
  6. Will be an interesting offseason for them. They lose the following: OF Cody Bellinger OF Trent Grisham 1B Paul Goldschmidt RP Devin Williams RP Luke Weaver INF Amed Rosario OF Austin Slater Cole comes back so the rotation has pretty good potential. They could use a contact-oriented bat so Bo fits from that respect but with Jazz at 2B they'd need to move Volpe. It's definitely possible that they trade him (maybe for a CFer?) but they seem to like Volpe. He had a down year but he's still young and projects pretty well. And if they are trying to improve their defense I don't think Bo is the guy.
  7. A lot of people on this board owe Vlad an apology. Normally, I'd suggest you all get together and combine on a big Swiss Chalet gift card for him but: he can afford to eat there on his own accord, and we don't need him eating that many calories anyway. I think a normal apology works in this situation so all of you haters and losers (of which there are many) need to start fessing up. Who's going to start?
  8. Yep this makes sense. The Tiger's best hitter is Riley Greene who strikes out over 30% of the time and can't hit lefties. Skubal makes them scarier in a playoff setting but the rest of the roster (lineup, bench, bullpen, defense) is best described as "not bad". If the Jays play their game they should win. The Mariners are tougher to beat. Their bench sucks and their bullpen isn't very deep. But if they get a couple of hot hitters, their starting rotation performs, and their late inning relievers deliver (all of which is very possible) they are going to be difficult to get past.
  9. A-Rod called it the “worst constructed roster he’s ever seen” or something like that lol
  10. The Yankees just had a 5 man bench and only 12 pitchers against us in the ALDS. They did it because they carry an extra catcher as Ben Rice and Wells are both in the lineup so that other lefty guy they have rides pine just in case. The rule is max pitchers is 13, there’s no limit on position players.
  11. Bo is barely jogging right now so it seems like if he makes the team he won't be 100%. I don't know if they are going to DH him or what but in any case they may want to keep IKF on the roster. They could dump Bruihl and Nance and add Bassitt and Bo and just leave Scherzer off. That would be a 5 man bench and 8 man bullpen (which could work with the off days).
  12. It's fun having a team that hates the Yankees as much as the fans do. Same goes for our broadcast team (Buck & Jamie Campbell). I bet Shapiro and Atkins hate Cashman too.
  13. Good morning Jays fans, how is everyone feeling today? ☀️
  14. Remember when the Yankees thought they were going to win the series after last night’s game? Lmao
  15. Not in the mood for this defeatist attitude right now sorry
  16. Come playoff time I don't really trust or want him to go beyond that anyway. He's a backend guy and they get 1 or 2 times through the lineup and that's it.
  17. Yeah we are basically doing what everyone wanted to for the majority of the season in giving Lauer a rotation spot over several others. We simply aren't anointing Lauer as today's starter so it's flying over everyone's head. Also, I think Bassitt's injury complicated things more than people are realizing. Fans are treating his injury like it's a phantom injury to get another bullpen arm on the team but he did have to get a cortisone shot in his back.
  18. Statistically, we had the best bullpen in baseball for the month of September if you take out Heineman's 10 run inning. They need to get back on track tonight. It could happen. If not, we win Game 5.
  19. Did Vern even watch the game, by chance? Or did he just check the box score?
  20. Idk the odds are probably more like once in his career. He probably doesn't have many homers off 100 mph as is. That far out of the zone and I would be surprised if he has any.
