  1. Dumbass Orioles relying on rookies like DL Hall in the middle of the pennant race instead of trading for proven vets like Anthony Bass. Trash org.
  2. I swear half the fan base would prefer a downgrade of Teo to Joc Pederson just because the latter bats left handed. Nevermind the fact that we suck ass vs lefties this year and that Teo is one of the few bright spots there.
  3. What "lefty impact bat" is going to be a better hitter than Teoscar is? Dude can hit lefties and righties.
  4. Trash org that needs to rely on gimmicks to compete. Make the park tough for righties and then stack their own lineup with lefties.
  5. Gunnar Henderson is folding in the middle of the playoff race. This is what happens when you rely on rookie callups instead of trading for veterans.
  6. Agree, pinch hit and then put Zimmer in the game. Seems like a no brainer.
  7. Future Superstar Nick Frasso Update: He threw the second AA game of his career at age 24 (by this rate he'll be in the big leagues no later than age 30) and this time he unleashed an entire 2.2 innings. The future workhorse struck out 3 but unfortunately got knocked around by giving up 4 hits, 1BB and a HR to a 26 year old org guy from Australia named Robbie Glendinning. Apparently the Robbie Glendinning's of the minor league circuit are presenting more of a challenge then the 19 year olds Frasso was facing in A-ball. The outing raised his ERA to 5.40 in AA but I have little doubt that once he repeats the level next year at age 24/25 he'll be dicing up those 21 year old prospects just like he diced up those 19 year olds in A-ball. Follow along as we track his rise to superstardom!
  8. Given his talent level not striking out is worthy of a celebration I guess. It's pathetic though because he's out there throwing haymakers for bat flipping on huge home runs and he pimps everything from his singles to fly outs. He's scum.
  9. Ross Atkins the mad baseball scientist and his disgusting volunteer intern in the lab at 3 am creating a 5-Headed Centerfield Monster on the eve of expanded rosters
  10. The 5-Headed Center Field Monster of Merrifield/Rocket/Zimmer/JBJ/Craig Biggio's son terrorizing AL playoff teams as we storm our way to the World Series.
  11. But yeah, Merrifield, Biggio and Tapia all project to hit close to league average and it's 2 lefties and a righty so you can play the matchups some to squeeze even more value out of the bats. I think Tapia and particularly Biggio are suspect in CF but Merrifield is good enough. Combine that with the defense of JBJ and Zimmer and you've got above average production in CF. Think about it this way, any time JBJ and Zimmer have hit for a 90 wRC+ or better (something White/Biggio/Tapia can provide) they have put up a minimum of a 2 WAR season. Sometimes much higher.
  12. I'm taking credit for this idea. I don't care if Tony LaRussa used to do it. It's MY idea and I want to see those "Thanks" pile up on my original post, not on you or keggy's followup posts.
  13. Idk why they wouldn't do some variation of that. There's too many spare parts down on the bench to start and play a guy like JBJ or Tapia the whole game. Take Zimmer, for example. He's completely expendable with JBJ around, as we saw with his recent DFA. I think starting him in CF and then pulling him his first AB would be an obvious move.
  14. Lawrence is just a AAA innings eater guy. He can pitch in garbage time and eat up 3-4 innings. When he does that he can be sent back down.
  15. JBJ Zimmer Tapia Merrifield Biggio Between these 5 you could probably squeeze out an above average major league CFer over the course of the game. Imagine a player with the CF defense of JBJ/Zimmer, and the strong side splits of Biggio/Tapia/Whit at the plate. It's 2 elite defensive CFers and 3 pinch hit options, one righty and two lefties. Start JBJ and then pinch hit for him as early as his 1st AB of the game if the situation calls for it. Then just keep subbing based on the situation until the game ends. If you played it right you could get 3 to 5 innings of JBJ and Zimmer CF defense without either recording an AB. lol
  16. The Orioles are an unstoppable juggernaut.
  17. Those degenerates should be lucked up. It's disgusting and baseball games are a family affair.
  18. Future superstar Nick Frasso is now a 23 year old AA pitcher after being promoted. Congrats to him though he'll soon be a 24 year old AA pitcher after his birthday in a month and a half. Anyway, the future first ballot Hall of Famer celebrated by walking 4 guys in 2 innings. Looks like 21-23 year old players lay off his sliders better than the 19 year olds he's been facing all year. I would also like to congratulate him on throwing for more than 40 innings this year. He hasn't done that since 2019 when he was a college sophomore. I don't think he'll set a new career high of 60+ innings as it looks like he still has his training wheels on. Regardless, it's going to be fun watching his career (fail to) unfold. Go Nick!
  19. Yeah next year is a big year. The only significant FA is Stripling so the team will be in pretty good shape. The bullpen was largely fixed this deadline and we've got a good crop of MLB starting pitching (Gausman, Manoah, Berrios, Mitch White, Kikuchi under contract is a good start) and the minor leagues are likely to provide some depth too (Tiedemann and Zululeta in AAA). The lineup is already set and even the bench looks like it's in pretty good shape with 2 WAR guys like Merrifield and Biggio there along with whatever backup C ends up there. We obviously will need more SP but there isn't a whole lot of glaring holes that will need fixed.
