    Catchers are so flipping weird. Kirk a sad example (though his book isn't written yet!). But Jansen is a great example. 16th round pick and looked like a nobody his first 4 years in pro ball. Suddenly he explodes in his 5th year and he's a hot name to know as a bat first catching prospect with major concerns about his defense. Gets the call and he's actually a defensive whiz that can't hit. After 3 or 4 years he's settled in as a solid all round C, both bat and defense. Weird career arc.

    Vlad and Bo are just killing us right now. If Bo gets on we've got a run already and the big inning is possible. But he hits a 1 pitch ground out and now we have to string multiple hits together to get a single run. Frustrating.

    Get Biggio in the game. He will at least waste some time by seeing 5 or 6 pitches before striking out looking.

    The SP depth went from looking okay to a steaming pile in 3 weeks. We need everyone to hold up until the ASB.

    Yeah he should be fine. April is by far his worst month and he's traditionally a slow starter. Better 2nd half player.

    Yeah we win today and it's a 4-3 road trip and we can feel pretty decent despite pissing two games away. Lose today and Masturbator (only a sick and depraved individual would name himself after a disgusting sex act), jays24 and the other debbie downers of the board will be running wild all over the board today.

    Definitely. But don't let the AA Fanboys tell you any different. Nearly 10 years after he left they still post about him daily. He extended every good young player on his team, but he would have deftly avoided doing that with Vlad before he turned into a pumpkin because they just know he would.

    The same AA Fanboys who worship him daily on the board would be cursing his name as they watch Vlad struggle in the middle of a 12 year extension right now. And anyway, it's all moot as AA clearly learned a lot during his time with the Dodgers under Friedman. He'd be a different GM if he never did that and stuck it out here.

    That's not the question though. Why does everyone who has negative takes claim they are a "realist"? No one who thinks that this team is a Wild Card team and remains relatively positive feels the need to call themselves "realists".

    Varsho is crazy good. This play had a 5% catch probability but because he got a 10 foot better than average jump he made it look relatively easy.

    Cannot wait for hockey to be over. I know almost zero about the game and wish I knew even less. I do my best to avoid any talk of it but being a Jays fan I get bombarded with it come playoff time from Toronto based baseball outlets. Hockey is a garbage sport that shouldn't be on TV until the Winter Olympics are on.

    Some bad decisions today. -Starting Barger in LF in his first MLB game. This team is so hellbent on not playing guys in both corner OF spots. Schneider only plays LF and Biggio only plays RF, for example. They finally break that mold today for the one guy they shouldn't (a rookie in his first game who has never played LF) and it bit them in the ass. -Not pinch hitting for Vogelbach with Turner in the 6th inning. The Royals would have went to the bullpen but Turner vs a righty is better than Vogelbach against a lefty (who hasn't had a hit against a lefty in over a year and a half). I think they went with Vogelbach because Zerpa sucks and was wild but Vogelbach looked so overmatched. Flailed wildly on an 84 mph hanger right down the dick to K.

    Game on the line with a runner in scoring position and he Ks looking on a pitch that got a ton of the plate
