  1. Maybe a game. Batting order barely matters. It's something that's easily controlled so it should be done right, but it hardly makes a difference.
  2. OR perhaps they'll end the month on fire and then we can start talking about the division title
  3. I don't think we are going 10-3 nor do I think we need too. If we did we would be right back in it is all I was saying. And if we were perennial WC3 contenders and had a bunch of gamers it would be very exciting. Instead we've got a bunch of mental midgets.
  4. No he actually pulled two doubles to LF! Then hit another double to CF. And a Single to CF.
  5. Yeah it would be a safe bet for him to extend while he's hot and healthy. Getting hurt again could cost him.
  6. Yeah that was a really tough play coming in on a liner like that but he made it look easier than he should have
  7. I've always been a huge Jansen fan and wouldn't mind an extension. However, we might need to use the money on a different position. Kirk's defense is becoming elite, especially with framing thrown in. His noodle bat has been disappointing but he still projects well and at worst can take a walk as the #8 hitter.
  8. He's only underperformed it last year and this year. So a year and a 1/3 of a season, not 3. And he might be some sort of exception to xStats because he's got some weird thing where he can't pull the ball in the air with the same exit velocity as he does everything else.
  9. They are both underperforming their expected stats by quite a bit. They should be fine.
  10. If we go 10-3 we could already be back in the lead for WC3 and will at least be very close to it.
  11. It’s not all doom and gloom. His slider graded a lot better and he’s mixing in a 4th pitch in the changeup which gives him a fighting chance against lefties. If he’s releasing each pitch from the same spot and locating a kitchen sink that could play, even if the stuff isn’t great. Does anyone know how his stuff now compares to his stuff in 2022?
  12. ^President of my fan club. Guy can’t go two hours without mentioning me by name.
  13. Vlad is hitting .285 But his slugging is only .385 ISO of .110 lol For comparison's sake, Joe Panik has a career ISO of .108
  14. Things could be on the upswing. Bear with me folks. This is the positivity thread after all. ROTATION: If Manoah is back this could be a game changer. Bassitt and Gausman have had their struggles but they seem really close to getting it locked in. We aren't far from having a dominant 1-5 which would allow us to stack up some wins to get back into this. BULLPEN: Green coming back could be big. Would give us a 7th-8th-9th of Green-Yimi-Romano. Richards can mix in as needed and Swanson can move to a low leverage role indefinitely. Then with Yariel and Francis close to back that would allow us to shore up the long relief situation too. LINEUP: Not even sure what to say here. Atkins saying he can't pinpoint what is wrong is concerning. But when you're this bad there's only one way to go and that's up so they will surely hit better than they have to date. SCHEDULE: The schedule from now until essentially the ASB really lightens up. Most of the tough series are at home and the hardest road trips are against teams like the Guardians. We need to start winning games and these AL Central teams coming up are a good start.
  15. Lol ok bro You couldn't grasp Statcast so I'm not about to even attempt to dive into projection systems with you
  16. No we aren't even arguing about that. We are basically arguing if it even matters at all.
  17. Francis and Yariel too. Bullpen should get a much needed reshuffle soon.
  18. Manoah with another gem is a huge development. We will need to stack up some wins to make up ground and it would be hard to do with a gaping hole in the #5 spot. If he's actually back we might be able to put together some big streaks to get back in it.
  19. We need Chad Green back bad.
  20. Nope, never said that. Read the quoted posts again and let me know where you think I did. Your reading comprehension is about as good as your grasp on advanced stats. All I've said from the get go is that Stankyleg is wrong to discard Statcast by saying it doesn't translate to wins. It most definitely does translate to wins and losses. Jays have been ass and their blue statcast pages prove it.
  21. 2 good starts in a row I'm shocked
  22. I'm referencing ALL of the statcast metrics in a general sense. StankyLeg says Statcast doesn't translate to wins, you seemingly agree with him, and I've done the best I can to explain to you both how it does. If you're still struggling I'm not sure I can help you any further. It all makes sense now as to why the most advanced stat I've ever seen you reference is run differential. lol
  23. Sac fly is going to need to be a wall scraper to score Vogelbach. Good job Schneider
  24. Ok "Red = Good" and nursery rhymes aren't working so let's bump this up to a 5th grade level and maybe it will help you and StankyLeg out. Statcast tracks and quantifies the things happening on the field. Good statcast metrics should lead to better results on the field, which should lead to better W-L records, especially over time. Really simple stuff.
