    Proof that Pentecost does exist. Hit a sharp single the only at bat I saw.Says that he's feeling great..big kid with a quick bat.

    No Devon Travis at Extended Spring game vs Canadian Nationals but ran into this guy. Love the Rock.

    Devon Travis took batting practice today at the complex...looks pretty good. What a great guy....even nicer in person.

    Watched Vlad Jr in an extended spring game yesterday. Played 3rd and made a nice play on a slow roller before throwing wide to first...popped up both times at bat. Kang was playing for Pittsburg on a rehab assignment. According to Sal Fasano, Loup has started pitching and should be in an extended spring game soon.

    I forgot Urena . Not excited about Jansen, D.J., Robson. Maysa and Cardona may prove interesting to watch. I only have 2 more weeks down here and would like to see another Borucki outing...he got hit hard the 1st time he pitched. Do you go to the games in Dunedin?

    With Alford out, the only players worth watching down here are McBroom and Conner Greene. The bottom of their lineup is horrible. Heading over to the complex tomorrow to watch an extended spring game...hope Vlady is in the lineup.

    Was at the game. Borucki was yukky tonight. Not a good start for Jays prospects...Alford, Greene and now Borucki.

    Everytime I see Dickey, I want to throw up. The fact that he is tied to Thole and cost us Thor and Darnaud has to make this the worst trade in Jays history.

    I was at the game tonight in Dunedin. Although he touched 96 and sat around 93, Conner Greene was worse than his line looks. ..A lot of loud outs. Alford was taken out of the game after a hard slide and a collision at home. He stayed down for quite a while but walked off on his own. He also had a line drive right at him clank off his glove. Not a particularly good night for the top prospects except for Urena who hit a bomb to right.

    Thanks for the kind words gentlemen. Here is today's report from the complex. Hutch pitched 5 innings...0 runs, 3 hits, couple strikeouts, 1 walk and believe it or not 2 balks. EE went 2-4 with a walk and a strikeout....single, double and a hard line-out to centre. Venditte got hit a bit and topped out at 82 on the gun..was not impressed. Tried to catch McBroom on the other diamond but kept missing his at bats..big kid...hope to see him with the Dunedin Jays.They break camp tomorrow so the next report will be from extended spring next week and A ball. Hope to see Vlady Jr.in extended spring games.

    Of the 6 k's, 4 were swinging and 2 looking. He didn't throw a lot of fastballs, mostly change and breaking balls. He left one pitch up that the kid hit hard to centre but it stayed in the park. A lot of breaking balls almost in the dirt for swinging strikes. I am having a great time...have been coming down for about 10 years now, usually mid-March to the end of April so that I can watch A ball and extended spring for a few weeks after the Jays leave. It's good to be retired and divorced.

    No Yankee regulars that I recognized...I think they were all minor leaguers. It's really great at the complex where you can watch a pitcher like Sanchez directly behind home plate, basically leaning on the backstop or go behind the first row and check the velocity on the gun. If anyone that really knows the organization who comes down for spring training and doesn't come to the minor league complex is missing a great up close experience. I actually was able to listen in on Eddie's interview with Gregor Chisholm and take a pic with EE afterwards. It's such a relaxed atmosphere and even better,it's free. I'll be back for their last session tomorrow before they break camp, then catch the opening series at the Trop.

    Saw Eddie today at the complex. What was more interesting, however, was Sanchez pitching to some Yankee scrubs on another diamond. His line for today...6 innings, 2 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB and 6 K's. Hope to see him next Tuesday against the Rays.

    Was at the game today, unfortunately left after the 7th and missed the home run but I was particularly impressed by Chavez. He threw 2 perfect innings with 3 k's and his fastball was sitting around 94. Umpiring was pretty bad today...lot of chirping from the bench which you rarely see in Spring Training. Choate had Ruf out on strikes before he hit the home run.

    There are always scalpers, errr, ticket brokers outside the stadium. You should be able to score some tickets easily but it will cost you.

    That was 3 years ago and at the time it cost $1200 for a single..much cheaper if you share a room. It was really well organized. Pretty much stuck on schedule the whole time. I would highly recommend Buckley's...they even made it fun on the bus with a number of trivia games and some give aways.

    I did one with Buckley's baseball tours a few years ago...best trip ever. Started in New York vs Jays, then on to Fenway, back to New York for a Mets game at Citi Field. From there, we went to the Hall of Fame induction, followed by a game in Philly, then back to NYC. Great seats at all the games, plus tours of Yankee Stadium and Fenway. It also included city tours in Manhattan, Boston and Philly.

    Is that part of an organized bus trip? If so, any info on it would be appreciated.

    High A ball..In the same league as the Dunedin Blue Jays ( Anthony Alford, Richard Urena, Mitch Nay there last year). Another beautiful park to visit is Brighthouse Field in Clearwater (Phillies).

    I have been going down to Spring Training for years and usually stay right in Dunedin. If you are going for only a few days, there are a number of efficiency motels on alt 19 just outside of town. For longer periods, I would recommend checking out VRBO or airbnb for accomodations. I would also highly recommend heading over to the Bobby Mattick Complex where the Jays farmhands train. There are always a number of roster players there and it is very informal, plus there is no charge. There are always a couple of games going on....usually starts at 11. Definitely try to get to a game in Clearwater.... Brighthouse Stadium is beautiful and only a 10 min drive from Dunedin. Also check out The Covered Bridge on Alt 19 for breakfast. Spring training is a great experience for any baseball fan..
