  1. you're right...my bad..for some reason I thought it was Santos....still...if guys are on an internet message board can come up with a trade where the jays rape another team...don't you think the opposing GMs in the game might just decline those trades...I'm not saying I don't enjoy reading all the doom and gloom and complainers on the boards...but many have a distorted sense of reality.
  2. I'm pretty sure Ruiz has a say in things...he wanted to sign where he did....Santos failed his medical....we can't just trade for this player or that player because teams aren't willing to voluntarily just help the jays out because you want them too.....too funny....baseball is so easy on a message board...
  3. signing Johnson to a 1 year 9 mil deal would have been a gamble, but was probably the right thing to do. It would have been an incredibly ballzy move.....AA just isn't willing to take those risks this year..
  4. I always find this proximity issue thing people bring up funny. The only way to get to Japan is by plane. It's an 11 hour and 40 minute flight from LA and a 13 hour and 10 minute flight from Toronto. Is an hour and a half flight difference the difference maker? Everyone wants the Cubs to sign Tanaka, but I just want him to sign wherever he's going so the rest of the teams can move on to other free agents.
  5. The Dodgers payroll in a couple years is going to be ridiculous with all the luxury tax they pay....how high can they go...I don't think they're done spending yet.
  6. are you sure AA didn't say Johan Santana...lol
  7. Bosch is arrogant and misleading....testing does help catch cheaters.....what's lost is the effectiveness of what's being used by those trying to get a edge...it's no where near as effective as the dbol and stuff that stayed in your system 3 to 6 months...the stuff that bonds was on that allowed him to grow three hat sizes and hit 73 home runs is no longer available because testing will catch you. The numbers don't lie....OPS numbers are way down across the board....the high octane juice that truly gave players an unfair edge just isn't available now.....it seems ridiculous that players are taking the risks they are to get such a slight edge now....it's not worth it.
  8. yeah...this is getting dumb...I wish Tanaka would just sign wherever he is going to sign, so we could move on to Garza, jimenez and Santana...
  9. are you sure you didn't hear that he loved that Kawasaki interview with the Toronto toque on?
  10. he visited a few cities before returning to japan....Toronto was not one of them...so tanaka to the jays...odds not looking good..
  11. given what Braun did and said and he got 70 games...he actually got caught. Arod didn't fail a drug test.....there's no way he deserves more than double the amount of games that Braun got....but whatever....let's rid the yanks of arod's salary so they can sign tanaka.
  12. 74 and 40.....seriously...how do you play 70% of the season and then call it a day....should have been the third year in a row that a Canadian team won the world series.
  13. He was so much fun to watch...seriously...the guy did goof off...he did play so many games at less than 100% due to injuries and bad health. The game came so easy to this guy...I mean he tried out for major junior hockey at the age of 16...baseball wasn't his full time focus until his later teen years....I wish I could fly down to Denver and kick Troy Renck in the balls...
  14. Larry Walker 1997. Home OPS of 1.169 road OPS of 1.176. 33 stolen bases, 12 outfield assists and 2 errors. A rare 5 tool player. He could run, throw(one of the strongest most accurate arms of all time), play defense, hit for average and hit for power. Do people not realize how good this guy was defensively? I'm glad I'm 38 years, old enough to remember seeing him play countless games with the expos. Lucky enough to have seen him play live in person, albeit just one game. Larry Walker is the only player in all of baseball history to steal more than 25 bases and post a slugging percentage above .700 in a single season.
  15. Your ballot is missing Larry Walker, but then again only 10.2% of voters voted for him, so a lot of people's ballots were missing Walker
  16. As difficult as it is to determine the criteria of who deserves to get into the hall, it's even difficult to determine the criteria of which reporters get a ballot for the hall of fame voting. The players that get into the hall are suppose to elite, but it seems any tom, dick or hairy can get a ballot to vote. Some of these reporters have no clue...most follow several sports. They should just have baseball executives who have some clue about the game vote players into the hall.
  17. I'm fine with that...but I would like to see the number 5 filled with either hutch, drabek or McGowan...everyone has happ in at number 5....I hope he's the long man out of the pen.
  18. I tend to agree....too many mental errors last year too...throwing to the wrong bag...missing the cutoff..
  19. My original point was context of words and that I highly doubted AA would ever say that to a player. You ranted on that I was a retard, toerag, minion from the other board and that you'd take a family member's words over my speculation.....a simple," you're perhaps not as dumb as I originally thought" would suffice!
  20. So who's the dumbass...me the guy who said AA would never say that to a player....or you the guy who said,"That I'd rather take his immediate family member and mentors word over yours," Did you see Tony's follow up tweet: Tony_Rasmus_IV ‏@FlorenceFalcon0 16h @BlueJaysFacts looking back over that tweet let me make one thing clear. Colby didn't hear that info from AA. Too funny spankster.....I was way off base on my comments..now wasn't I....lol
  21. I already capitulated....I said I was a retard..you're the King....ooops....King is the King...but you're such a brilliant man....I envy you...I wish I could be you spanky...you're spankolitious...
  22. lol....I have had a couple drinks...but all I'm doing is taking some shots at spanky after he took some at me. I'm not an idiot...for that matter I don't think Spanky is either, but he enjoys trying to make people feel stupid, he's one self assured individual. I don't post this way when talking with others...most things are subjective and people disagree....but in spanky's world he's always right. I can't say I'm not strong in my convictions either, but I typically state my opinions..I don't try belittle people....this was one exception I'm making only because of who it's directed at.....I'll refrain from further posts in this thread if it's offending you though...
  23. yeah...for a guy like spanky who shows nothing but complete deference to all on the boards and never attacks anyone....I was completely out of line..lol
  24. me dumb dumb...you so smrt.....I mean smart....please educate dumb dumb on all things baseball...why don't we start with the tanaka posting...how does that work again..
