  1. I've said sign drew...I'm not on the goins bandwagon either. I think Kawasaki would be better than goins, but this team has enough offense...it needs pitching. The issue of second is a lot more glaring when Reyes is not in the lineup, but Reyes should be back soon. The Yankees won games without jeter, tex, and granderson last year. They only scored 650 runs last year. The Jays had 712 runs last year. We need to pitch!
  2. It's 15 days....hutch, morrow and McGowan will have a lot more to do with the fortunes of the season than a 15 day dl stint......look around the league...tons of teams have had injuries. If we can't weather the storm of a 15 day dl stint from one key guy, where it was highly probable that you were going to get that from that said guy....then they were done before they started. One loss and the sky is falling in...
  3. I'm worried about Reyes....but his injury today didn't look that serious....I think Dickey will be fine...knuckleballers go through games like this....I think izzy could have a bounce back season...I think goins should be in AAA...same for Thole..
  4. to be fair, the pitches he got were way outside the strikezone...but he did strike out swinging at pitches that far outside the zone last year..lol
  5. just one game....I'm pumped to watch Hutch tomorrow...that kid is legit....he won't be walking guys every inning.
  6. well at least I had melky and jose picked for my beat the streak picks today..lol
  7. 91 they get the wildcard!
  8. If you are taking 60 or 70% of at bats at a position you're not a bench player....
  9. I'm not sold on Sierra, but I'm not completely writing him off...he has natural athleticism..good bat speed. He has too many moving parts in his swing, but he could make adjustments and progress. He hit well enough this spring and good last year in his call up. I would most certainly sign drew...but I don't know the budget constraints...
  10. izzy played more than 100 games in 6 of the last 8 seasons...bench players don't play 100 games. Cano just go 10 years at that age....you should have consulted with the mariners and saved them some money.
  11. You're really going to judge izzy on one year and not look at his entire career? Great GM work there.
  12. Give me a f***ing break...if Colby gets hurt for one game Melky can play centre and sierra can play left. I don't like an 8 man bullpen either, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be an 8 man bullpen all year. Izzy is not a useless bench player...for f*** sakes the Yankees had nix and stewart on their bench last year so quit your f***ing bitching. It's opening day on Monday. You can continue your bitching in a week....You think you'd make a fantastic GM...most likely a million times better than AA...but no team in the MLB has made you an offer to run their team so shut it.
  13. deja blue....like you're constant complaining? The starting back up centre fielder is less than a 2 hour drive away..chill out. You think having the ace of your staff mentally strong and getting off to a hot start isn't important? Kratz will be up in a month....the season starts Monday...can you hold off on your AA bashing for at least a week..
  14. I want to say lind..but not against price....I'll go with bautista.
  15. We've changed a lot without changing a lot if that makes any sense. Morrow pitched 50 innings last year and he was pitching hurt. That's a complete right off, so we've replaced Morrow with Morrow..lol. We had Hutch as a member of the Jays, but he was recovering from injury. We've replaced Johnson with Hutch. We've replaced Happ with McGowan. Essentially 60% of our rotation is different than last year. We replaced league worst defense and offense out of the catcher position with a guy who might be able to hit league average production at the catcher position and a guy who isn't a defensive wizard, but he's better than JPA and is a good game caller. Melky played like a broken down senior last year. It made sense when you found out his injury. We're replacing what was a bad player with the same guy but he's healthy and looks to be a good player again. The guys also missed a lot due to injury..we just need more luck with staying healthy. We've changed a lot without changing much at all.
  16. melk man, bautista, hutch and now morrow finally....starting to get pumped for the season!
  17. The .OPS of Righties against him is just slightly above league average. He's not bad against righties by any stretch of the imagination....but he's devastating against lefties.
  18. well that outing was a sight for sore eyes...way to go morrow
  19. as good as lindy was last year, it looks like his mental approach to hitting is just getting better..I think he's going to be even better this year.
