  1. melky's on every pitch..even tough pitches like that last one
  2. because drew doesn't want to have to face the qualifying offer next year and if he makes it to the first day of the season a team can't offer him the qualifying offer and receive a pick if he declines. The Jays have protected picks, so they may not be as concerned about waiting till june till after the draft to avoid losing a pick as it's a 2nd rounder.
  3. jeter is an old man....maybe he will be as bad as goins..lol
  4. I keep dreaming that the Jays sign drew on April 1st, but I know that won't happen. Maybe they can make a trade mid season.
  5. sounds like Joe Girardi is a bigger believer in the Jays than some of the blue jays fans..lol
  6. yes, I'm part of the "special" fans group....but it comes with free lollipops and visits from jose bautista on off days...it' s not as bad as you might think.
  7. okay...the last one made me giggle
  8. why the change of heart. You seem to be getting more optimistic. Perhaps it's because Hutch is now in the rotation. The old Moogy would have said the Jays will have a worse record than the Stros and have the worst record in the AL.....not they will battle the Stros for the worst record in the AL.
  9. Dickey's numbers correlated with his velocity last year. When he played through injury at the beginning of the year and his velocity was down, his ERA was up...as he got healthy and his velocity improved his ERA droped. His post all start ERA was 3.56. His ERA after the first two months was 3.72. If he posts those kind of numbers and Buehle chimes in around a 4 ERA with Hutch being the big surprise being a 3.2 ERA those are 3 pretty good starters. The rotation only needs to put up a 3.9 ERA to be in the playoff hunt. That gives a lot of room for Morrow, McGowan, Rogers, Redmond, Happ to piece together a 4.4ish ERA in the 4 and 5 spots. If McGowan is McGowan...what exactly is he..lol.
  10. Those two predictions kind of go against each other..lol. If hutch's WAR is better than jj, ubaldo and Ervin, then the firing of AA seems unlikely unless all 4 are terrible. One bold prediction...Lind posts an .OPS north of .730 against Lefties.
  11. I forgot to add time to my pvr recording...missed the end of the game...I won't make that mistake again..lol
  12. I don't know why the tigers would offer more than 1 for 10....nobody else is stepping up to sign drew.
  13. they can throw him in the bullpen...he can't reject going to the pen.
  14. Redmond with a good start...reminds me of litsch. I think he belongs on the roster.
  15. I just love the fact that Hutch throws strikes...if you don't walk guys, you'll last a long time in this league...look at buehrle.
  16. one, you didn't see him throw, 2 calculating xfip or fip from one game is ridiculous and 3 he was facing a major league roster today and did well.
  17. lawrie and melky were the two guys you needed to see good things out of this spring....the offense is showing some promise.
  18. alvarez actually pitched pretty well the first season he was brought up. Nolin pitched 1.2 innings and wasn't ready. Hutch looked good but got hurt. He had to spin the ball a lot more than sanchez would though. Sanchez has the plus velocity and wouldn't have to rely as much on his off speed stuff.
  19. Just throw McGowan in that rotation and hope for the best. That rotation with McGowan doesn't look half bad. If he gets hurt...so be it. They were going to trade a pen arm for starting pitching in the offseason anyways...if you lose McGowan to injury at some point you just lost a pen guy where there's lots of depth.
  20. I get that he is a young pitcher, but why are you so down on hutch? How do you make a comment like that without trying to quantify or validate it. What specifically about hutch is hilarious. Is it his lack of velocity or movement? Does he not have a good breaking ball? Does he have a terrible change up? Does he have bad command? It seems like a rather vacuous comment, but perhaps you could clarify it for us.
  21. you could see his production drop before your eyes as the tumor on his back grew in size over the regular season. With any luck, melky won't have a tumor grow on his spine this year and melky will rake.
  22. he didn't display a lot of power, but he did post a .356 OPB and stole 22 bases in 44 games. Hard to say that was terrible. He added a dimension of speed that helped everyone on the team.
  23. AA running his mouth. You really do hate the guy. Ricky did some positive things, is a GM suppose to slam his players in spring training? He was terrible today...move on. We're stuck with Happ, Remond an Rogers. We need better, but it's what we have for now.
  24. I got some road rash jumping off that bandwagon, but I've learned my lesson.
