  1. could be going with a 7 man bullpen, maybe a reliever stubbed his toe(Norris?). I would be really happy for Tellez if he was on the roster. I think he deserves a shot to sink or swim.
  2. First I'm really happy that we got rid of Kendrys. Well done shatkins. There was talk of McKinney at lead off. Neither Drury or McKinney are real great options. Alford had the highest .OBP out of all three in the minors, and clearly has the edge in speed so he would be a good fit at the top, but he's going to have to establish himself and get regular playing time before that happens.
  3. It’s impossible to be a total bust when you are drafted in the 10th round.
  4. He showed more than enough this spring to indicate he's got good stuff and he's a real prospect. I don't see what the point in picking him was, if you weren't going to hide him on your roster and keep him for the year. The only reason to return him is if you get into the season and you think you realistically can compete for a playoff spot and you need a better bullpen option.
  5. https://jaysjournal.com/2018/11/26/blue-jays-claim-oliver-drake-tampa-bay-rays/ He was when the Rule 5 draft took place.
  6. he's not going to be a starter....he's a younger John Axford without the movie picks! They could have protected both though instead having Oliver fricking Drake on the 40.
  7. Give me a break. It's not overwhelming on one side or the other. Bergen just had injury issues, but he's pitched extremely well whenever he's been able to get on the mound.
  8. Huston gave up on Paulino. He's sucked at the MLB level. In 3 season's at AAA he struck out 11 per 9, walked 3.9/9 gave up 1.4 HR per 9 with a 1.37 WHIP. Bergen is a lefty for starters, which I like. He put up an 11.8K/9, walked 2.4/9 , .3hr/9 last year with a 1.006 WHIP. I would be more than happy to make a friendly wager with you on who's major league numbers are better this year if you want.
  9. Yeah, Bergen's minor league numbers suck. Paulino clearly better. His own team mate called him out in spring training, but that's no big deal. I expect Paulino will be a stud for us this year.
  10. and they think David Paulino....aka lazy man is better? Bergen has had a pretty solid spring. I don't think we're getting him back.
  11. yeah....they should have found a spot on the 40 for him.
  12. Can someone explain why we let Bergen go when our bullpen is crap?
  13. Terrified would be my word of choice. Hurry back Buchholz and Borucki!
  14. now there's a prediction that belongs in the bold prediction thread! I hope you're right..lol.
  15. Good for the mets for extending Degrom! 5 137.5
  16. Which 8 guys are going to be in bullpen to start the season? I have a hard time finding 3 or 4 guys I'd want on a major league roster in the pen right now.
  17. Teoscar Hernandez posts above average fielding numbers in left this year.
  18. The Mirage does have 8 walks this spring, so that's encouraging.
  19. I’d rather see SRF start, but I don’t think he’ll get the start.
  20. do you guys ever sleep or is it baseball 24 hours a day?
  21. I will bet you his defensive numbers are better this year if you want.
  22. Shouldn't Alford be in CF and Grichuk in RF
