  1. There's a lottery winner every week. It was bound to happen eventually.
  2. It was an 85 mph slider. Get your head out of your ass. You don't say a guy lacks bat speed and then show him whiffing on an 85 mile per hour pitch. You show him being blown away by a fastball ffs.
  3. It's the same as circumcision. I didn't circumcise my son, and I don't agree with what Stroman did, but he's not running a dog fighting ring. I think he just made a stupid choice.
  4. You seem like you have a keen eye for the game. You should apply to the Jays. You might be a super scout for the organization. It seems odd that you would talk about bat speed and then show a clip of tellez striking out on an off speed pitch, but you are clearly a very knowledgeable guy, so who am I to question that logic. Thanks for your input Yoda.
  5. or maybe not that informative at all given the sample size.....if you look at July August September and expand the sample size a bit things start to look OK for old Rowdy. Free Rowdy!
  6. I'm in the "trade Pillar" camp and I love Pillar. Kevin plays hard and he has played multiple seasons far less than 100%. Lesser players wouldn't have taken the field the way Pillar did. Kevin has put his body on the line and has made a lot of spectacular plays in the outfield. He's a very good defensive player.
  7. anyone think we won't see Vlad until late april 2020?
  8. It's less about Tellez and more about Morales. I just don't want to see him at the plate for the Jays anymore. I'd be fine with carrying an extra outfielder, or infielder....just rotate the DH. No more Morales!
  9. Tellez killed it in the second half in the minors and the majors as well last year. He has rough year and a half, which coincided with his mother battling and dying of cancer. What's the statistical adjustment you make to a guys stats who has to deal with a dying mother? Tellez is 24 now not 21 or 22. Morales' WAR will be somewhere between -.5 to maybe .7 WAR. His upside is most likely less than 1 win. That type of ceiling shouldn't prevent any young player from making the club. His biggest value to the team is probably his relationship with Vlad.
  10. free Tellez....dude should be on the opening day roster!
  11. The bolder part is not incorrect. Defensive metrics are highly volatile. Kevin is 30. He hasn’t had any significant injuries. There’s no reason to believe his defense is materially different than two or three years ago.
  12. He’s 19. You expected a finished product? He’s still going to stick.
  13. She won’t go away because she’s just attractive enough that you keep calling her when you are drunk. Pillar is a solid 2 to 2.5 win player. He isn’t awful. He’s decent on the base paths and very good defensively with an underwhelming bat. A team in contention that has some injury issues will bite on pillar because he isn’t terrible.
  14. Clearly a 6 win player if he gets a chance
  15. Nice story. Now I can cheer for Alford even more! It's hard not to like Alford's athleticism. I hope he bounces back and has a great season.
  16. alford...the forgotten man trying to make a push for a spot on the team!
  17. nice to see my man SRF with a solid outing.
  18. I think he's suggesting give him a 4 year deal if the AAV has come down significantly. We have nothing committed next year.
  19. I don't know how you get to the final without having to go through the bracket. There should have been at least a sweet 16 bracket with the likes of Jimcanuck, BBBB, Angrioter..etc
  20. Can we just dfa morales and split the Dh between Tellez and whoever else makes the team
  21. Somewhere between 95% and 100%
  22. I've said numerous times the Jays have no chance to compete and when you look at Boston, Houston, and the Yankees they are miles behind. Cleveland most likely wins the central by default. Then there's the last wild card. I could see oakland taking a step back. I think Tampa might be my pick for the 5th playoff spot as I really like Morton. Tampa can't afford any injuries though. I think it's a long shot, but it's spring training and the eternal optimist in me thinks there's still a very slim chance the Jays could get that last spot because I don't see a dominant number 5 team. The gap between the 4th and 5th wild card could be as much as 10 games though! There's rumours of a Packers vs Raiders pre-season game coming to little old Saskatchewan, so I guess anything is possible.
  23. You're arrogant enough to know already that Borucki is not great. Some of actually feel like he may be better than a 5, but acknowledge he just be a 5 or worse. The entire world knows Richard is crap.
