  1. They are currently one spot better than the red sox. A game up on the sweaty sox.
  2. I know, that was my first thought too. You put in Vlad to replace Gurriel and slide Durry to 2nd base and the lineup actually looks half decent.
  3. Remind me again when you want to win again? 2020? 2021? 2022?
  4. 95 on the outside part of the plate. It was up a bit, but that's a nice piece of hitting. That wasn't a right down broadway gimmie by any stretch of the imagination.
  5. We're 29% as a team for the year....yuck
  6. man drury seems to stand quite a ways off the plate....
  7. it was a joke...which guys do you want to ditch just for fun
  8. You want the honest answer?
  9. They shouldn't even keep track of stats of mid 20s baseball players who play in the PCL....it just causes executives to make bad decisions..lol
  10. buchholz is going to take Pannone's spot, not Thorton. It will be interesting to see what they do when Borucki is ready.
  11. ha ha...You're right...painstaking losses mixed with alcohol can bring out the irrational. It's easy to want to push the fast forward button on guys who actually have plate discipline to replace those who don't. I hope Biggio, Bichette, Alford all have great starts and can force their way on to the roster at some point this year. I can capitulate somewhat.
  12. What does that have to do with the 18% walk rate he had last year. He walked 100 times, hit 26hrs, stole 20 bags. My opinion on Biggio has nothing to do with his 3 for 4 start today. This team desperately needs guys who can get on base. I guess you'd rather watch a guy like Gurriel swing at everything and play crap defense. That's just not my cup of tea. I don't need to see a guy with an advanced approach at the plate play a full season in AAA to replace a guy like Gurriel.
  13. all that is fine and dandy, but he's being blocked by Brito. It may be unlikely that either flip that switch as you say, but if you were going to wager on which player might flip that switch who are you going to bet on. I'm going with my man Alford.
  14. I really hope Biggio gets a shot this year. I can't stand to think that we have a guy in AAA who had an 18% walk rate in the minors last year being blocked by Gurriel who takes less walks than some guys get hit by pitches in a season. On top of that Biggio is a much better base running and a better defender. He's turning 24 in a week..give the kid his shot.
  15. Alford has so much potential with just his defense and base running. He has a .360 OBP for his minor league career. He hasn't shown a lot of power, but he has good bat speed. There are plenty of examples of guys who went on to be good power hitters who didn't necessarily show it in the minors. Alford has tremendous strength and athleticism. You can't teach that. Giving up on Alford is short sighted imo and he went 2 for 4 today..lol.
  16. teoscar looks ok
  17. Rally caps on mates
  18. Freddy has had such great abs this year...
  19. He's a good defender, hardly elite
  20. I would have said smoak if he was healthy, but teoscar deserved a chance there. He actually has more walks than strike outs so far this year
