  1. The Baggies. Three points well earned today. Boing, Boing!
  2. just watching Eddie with 2 hits today. I can't help but cheer for him, even if he does play with the Yanks.
  3. fine...screw you eastcoaster...and you were wrong!
  4. and you wonder why the bluejaysmessageboard community won't grow. A guy makes a mistake and it's profanity laced tirades...lol. Even Spanky had restraint to just explain that he was wrong. It was a baseball terminology with a clear definition. For the record, you even made an error when you said a team can non-tender a player after the arbitration, which was incorrect. You can dfa the player, but you're on the hook for the salary the arbitrator awarded the player. We all make mistakes from time to time.
  5. https://www.bardown.com/aaron-sanchez-shared-gruesome-photos-of-the-injuries-blisters-that-de-railed-his-season-1.1024456 His blister issues were actually a real thing. He had a blister issue in May 17 this year as well. Despite having a good year in 2016 he was not a finished product. He's lost a couple years of development due to injuries. It's got to f*** with your mind and confidence. Like many suggest he may never turn the corner, but his curve and change up especially the last couple starts have looked quite good. He has to get some velocity and movement back. Who knows if that is possible, or if he can remain healthy. Time will tell. There's something in the water in Huston. If you have decent stuff they seem to be able to get guys going down there.
  6. or you could just explain what he doesn't understand. You could have just said in his arbitration years you tender an offer and you either agree on a contract or go to salary arbitration which is binding. You non-tender a player in his arbitration years when you feel a player will make more in arbitration than what you are willing to spend, so you non-tender the player and he becomes a free agent. Sometimes empathy and enlightenment is more rewarding than being an insufferable prick. You do have a vast baseball knowledge, I will give you that, but you don't use it for greater good!
  7. There are lots of *******s that are good players. Billy is a strong personality and that may have got the best of him. He'd be the first to admit he f***ed up, but Billy wouldn't hesitate to bring in a Bauer if he thought it would help him win. Shatkins are looking for choir boys to play on this team. Bottom line, is I don't like baseball moves they have made lately. I'm not going to say they haven't done some good things, but we won't know if this plan is going to work for 2 or 3 more years so it's pointless arguing it.
  8. Yeah...he wants to shed negative light on the the f***s that traded him. If asked directly, I highly doubt he's going to come out and say they are racist. These are two strong personalities in a row that have left with a bad taste for management. Donaldson didn't get along with the nerds either. We got s*** in return for both.
  9. You're making a lot of assumptions on what Stroman is stating. It feels a lot more like a petulant child acting out and agreeing with any negative comment whether it has merit or not against the guys who let him go. There's been no direct quote of Stroman accusing anyone of racism. I'd be shocked if reporter haven't tried to bating him into such a comment. Nothing has come out. The guy has venom for a front office he can't stand. That's it. Keith Law is the bigger idiot for for making this into something it's not, and the guy who made the original comment is in idiot for making such an ambiguous statement.
  10. Ok I didn’t buy the racist slant either but shut up. You sound like a red neck tool
  11. Why are we talking about non tendering the guy if we had kept him. We have zero salary committed. If we would have kept him we absolutely would have tendered him a contact and hoped he had a better season to turn him into an asset. Why are you guys so concerned with saving Rogers money. They are the richest and now cheapest owners in the league.
  12. No one is as smart as you Boxy, but an average exit velocity of 90.5 would place him tied for 80th in the league. You're also talking about a small sample size. Sure the league average is 87.5 so he's above league average, but I don't think I would call it insane. He's struck out 35.3% of the time if we're going to look at that small sample size. You just called him awesome get for 3 marginal pieces in an earlier post....we shall see.
  13. I just checked, he had a .289 BABIP this year in the MLB so I'm not sure what you're talking about.
  14. The bet was pretty simple. If Bergen is returned to the Jays by July 31, I would not post in August. If he's not, you won't post in August. If he's returned to the Jays by midnight tonight, I won't post for a month. I don't have any other screen names I post under either. I'm a man of my word.
  15. you enjoying your lasts few hours of posting for a while.
  16. Just like your head.....You going to honour your bet and not post in August?
  17. yes that bat is a dime a dozen...now where's the eye roll emoji. How is a starting pitcher teh QB of the team....they play once every 5 days.
  18. What do you think the coaches were saying....relax dude...you don't even play in the national league..you've been traded to the Indians!
  19. that's a fireable trade for the Preller, except Preller's had a few fireable instances and he's still there so I'm not sure what it takes.
  20. Franmil's is 24 and just over 600 plate appearances. Typically, player's offense doesn't peak that early. He could get a lot better with the bat. He's 22% better than league average already. He might actually get worse on offense, but you have to like the potential for him to get a lot better...the upside is there and he isn't a free agent until 2025.
  21. Marcus Stroman has a better career FIP than Bauer. Bauer had the one amazing year last year, but he's got a 4.17 FIP this year, and if there's a guy who might be a bigger head case than Stroman it's Bauer.
  22. man Teo's D is like night and day since last year....still has the odd lapse, but much better this year.
  23. Stroman's departure reminds me of Donaldson's departure. Another guy who wanted to stay, no numbers exchanged. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/conflicted-donaldson-determined-make-indians-opportunity/ No one is saying Stroman in the clubhouse was anywhere near what Sogard was. Sogard is pretty much the ideal team mate. Still if you read the article, Stroman did a lot for the young pitchers. He even made amends with Sanchez. Stroman's a twot, but I don't think he was a cancer in the clubhouse. I just think about last year if we had maintained good relations with Donaldson and given the injury we could have got a 4 year 90 mil extension. What would this team look like next year with Stroman, Pearson and Shoemaker at the top of the rotation, with Vlad at first, biggio at second, bichette at short, donaldson at third, Gurriel in the outfield and we'd still have money to add. That team clearly might not be enough to get to the playoffs, but depending on how you spend your money it certainly could have been. You wouldn't have had to sacrifice the future, you'd just be short 3 prospects that you received for Donaldson and Stroman. Now we're hoping all the prospects come together for 2022 or 2023 and hope we can attract free agents or trade for regular major league players. Both paths have risk. I'd rather compete than rebuild.
  24. Marcus wasn't an issue in the club house. He had a problem with management. Yes, Marcus can be a pain in the ass. The last two stars that left in Donaldson and Marcus both had a problem with management. The problem is there a lot more stars with Alpha personalities like Marcus and Donaldson than guys like Trout who are absolute saints all around. https://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2019/07/27/why-the-next-wave-of-blue-jays-pitching-hopes-stroman-doesnt-get-traded.html
  25. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure name calling is against the rules...lol. Borucki put up 1.6 wins in 97.2 innings last year. I'm pretty sure there's room for debate as to whether Kay is better than Borucki. Only a Shatkins fanboy would say that's obvious.
