  1. how about we sit grichuk and bring in Alford!
  2. This guy was mid 50s born in leeds. Made his way to Canada. I hope he's not in for some heart ache! I have no problem with Leeds taking the trophy as long as my baggies take 2nd somehow..lol.
  3. why is fisher not playing again...is he hurt?
  4. Had a pint with an older leeds fan on Saturday. Were you as upset with the Swansea loss as he was! This should be leeds' year, but that's what makes the championship so compelling. It's so competitive.
  5. Welcome back King, but Bergen is quite handsome for a ginger. I think you're being a bit harsh!
  6. I was at the Rider Bomber labour day game yesterday. It was a fantastic atmosphere indeed. I wish I could go to the banjo bowl next week!
  7. wow..syndergaard got s*** pumped tonight. 9 earned runs over 3 innings with 3 hrs given up...you don't see that very often.
  8. I noticed Alford was back last night. I'm not sure what his injury was, but he pretty much missed the minimum. When I saw he got hurt mid month, I thought that could blow his shot any playing time in September. He looks to be on track to getting a few at bats come September.
  9. Donaldson with a couple of bombs in the lead up to his trip back to Toronto.....Hope he gets a nice ovation from the crowd.
  10. 2015 EE, Bautista, JD will be tough to top. 120 bombs with a wrc+ of 150, 148 and 154.
  11. Spanky lives for baseball. The guy dreams about baseball. He wakes up and is like where's the corn field and what the f*** happened to Shoeless Joe. That's how much Spanky loves baseball. He actually watches the games, and likely played pretty competitive ball himself. He's very well versed on all the happenings in Major League Baseball. As far as Sanchez goes, I've commented numerous times watching him that his curve ball looks better this year than it's ever looked before. However, his fastball is hot garbage. There's less movement, significantly less velocity with zero command. In order for Sanchez to be a game changer for the Astro's he's basically got to be a top 3 rotational arm. The Stros are a lock for the division so the regular season doesn't matter. Who are you getting rid of? Verlander, Cole or Greinke? I highly doubt Sanchez would take Miley's spot, and you're talking about a guy who most likely gets one post season start limited to 4 or 5 innings. I don't think I would call this spot a game changer. Sanchez for the Astro's is a guy who can transition to the bullpen for the post season. With max effort maybe his velocity on the fastball ticks up and he can use the curve ball a lot more. He can be a middle innings guy who could provide some value. Sanchez needs to fix his fastball. That likely starts in the gym in the off season working on his strength and working on some mechanical adjustments. It's not out of the realm of possibility that he could turn things around next year as a starter, but the odds are not great. Sanchez only had one year of control so I understand moving him, I just would have rather targeted more pitching. I'm all for bold opinions that go against the popular opinion, but this board if full of some of the most knowledgeable baseball nerds in Canada so be prepared the the backlash. I think you're out to lunch on this one, and I actually like Sanchez.
  12. I wasn't being serious. There was a reason he was free.
  13. it's his birthday.....they asked him what he wanted and he said I don't want to face Buehler!
  14. i wonder if Godley can recover his 2018 form?
  15. young kids bail out slightly older bad outfielders.
  16. godley is bad at baseball....
  17. Ha Bergen is back....22 days earlier and King would be posting and you wouldn't have to hear my drivel.....
  18. That was his 14 AB since being back in the MLB. That was his first K and it was against one of the best pitchers in baseball. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm pretty sure hitting is a bit harder standing at the plate than it appears sitting your ass on your couch at home. Cut the kid some slack.
  19. well that was a crap effort by grichuk
  20. It's his Birthday today. I'm pretty meh on Fisher, but come on. You can sit a guy on his Birthday!
  21. I wasn't at all concerned with losing Sanchez. I couldn't care less. I didn't want to lose stroman. I laugh at the crush people have on Shatkins thinking Fisher is more than a 4th outfielder.
  22. yeah, but acquiring a stronger prospect who also happens to be a pitcher would be great management. Why do you assume they would have got a worse pitching prospect. They targeted fisher. Atkins called him an every day centre fielder. People outside of the blue jays organization call him a 4th outfielder. i'm not saying he's not an MLB player. He just doesn't move the needle. We already have Drury and Mckinney.
  23. i never said i was screaming mad. Shatkins seems to collect 4th outfielders like my aunt collected beanie babies in the 90s. I would have rather acquired pitching. This team needs pitching!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  24. Fisher hit a mistake out. It doesn't matter who the pitcher is. Fisher has already lost 2 pop flies, which I can overlook, but he strikes out a lot. He takes a few more walks than average and has good pop and that's encouraging, but his 35% K rate is not that inspiring.
  25. this sounds a lot sexier than Fisher crushes a 91.7 mph 4 seam fastball right down the middle of the plate.
