  1. maybe we can sign donaldson in the offseason!
  2. how are 1-2 league average starters going to compete with the Yankees? We need a front end of the rotation arms, not a bunch of back end of the rotation starters. Do you really want to dip into the free agent pool for pitchers? One free agents won't come here and look at the free agents coming up in the next two years. Free agent pitching deals can be a crap shoot. Stroman doesn't rely on power to be effective. He will be 30 in year one of his free agent extension, not 31 or 32. Stroman's relatively low risk in terms of the risk that pitcher's typically carry imo. I think his stuff will hold up fairly well and he has shown to be fairly durable with no major arm injuries.
  3. I think there's a rift between stroman and management. Stro can't keep his mouth shut, so I'm guessing we'll find out via twitter what (if any) offer was made to him about 8 minutes after he's traded.
  4. 3 shoemaker deals makes me wanna puke. This team has a s*** ton of money. It has an incredibly tough time attracting free agents. The Stroman extension is absolutely the way to go.
  5. Just a good slider and this is over
  6. These Red Sox games are unbearably long and then the jays do that
  7. Biggio is an exciting kid to watch. I love his approach. He might have all star level upside
  8. That's hilarious. I needed a good laugh. Toronto has to go the extra year and pay an extra 10% to 20% to get a guy like Cole. Does that sound like Shatkins MO. We have zero shot at Cole. The rational behind extending Stroman is that he's a quality number 2 who you can get on a close to fair market deal without the extra years or dollars. All other free agents we will have to massively overpay. If we trade Stroman because management says they valued him at 4 and 60 instead of going 5 and 80 that's a fail. Corbin gets 6 140 and you can't go 5 and 80 on Stroman. Give me a break.
  9. grichuk is dumn
  10. the goal is to lose. Jackson is doing a great job!
  11. I can't believe they had to pay half his salary. That's just ridiculous. EE is killing it and earning every dollar he's being paid this year.
  12. he said an outfielder that could play centre field. We put Grichuk in centre, but he certainly can't play centre.
  13. have you ever watched basketball before?
  14. The intriguing thing about Borucki was the velovity bump in spring training. He was hitting 95 and 96 on the radar gun in spring. He showed quite well last year as a rookie. You add 3 mile per hour to his fastball and you can't help but be excited. Hopefully he can pitch at some point this year. That velocity may not be there when he does pitch. Regardless, I have a hard time watching Thorton's wind up so I can't possible be unbiased in any discussion involving Thorton. Borucki is scheduled to throw a bullpen tomorrow as long as there aren't any ill effects from his long toss the other day. If he's on his first bullpen tomorrow and doesn't have any setbacks, he should be ready for the end of June.
  15. The only person i'm certain will be on the Jays in 2024 is Vlad. It's a bit of stretch to think we'll win the world series. Scratch that, we might be trading Vlad mid way through 2024 to start the rebuild for 2028.
  16. if we don't sign stroman I'm going to be pissed.
  17. he's the king of the mountain...he's responsible for everything.
  18. Grichuk will be lucky to be a one win player this year.
  19. I'm super pumped to watch Biggio....super 2 be damned!
  20. How do you know they haven't already? KC is rebuilding too. They could be pissed that the Jays took him in the first place and are being unreasonable in requests.
  21. His bat is 8% better than league average. It’s his rookie year. The way you are defining him is ridiculous. His power and exit velocities are not average. He may or may not develop but his bat could easily be 30% better than league average. He’s a guy you see trying to make adjustments. I don’t think I can tell you what rowdy is until I see 1200 plate appearances.
  22. That’s because sogard sux again....biggio has 2 walks tonight. It would be nice to have him hitting in front of Vladimír
