  1. Ray goes: 96.7 mph FB 97.1 mph FB 91 mph Slider 97.2 mph FB to strikeout Schoop I'm really looking forward to Ray this season. The velocity seems real. He's in the 4th inning right now and I doubt he's going to be asked to go more than 6 innings hardly ever.
  2. https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2021/3/18/22337384/perfect-pitching-machine-trajekt-winmill-jeff-kensrud I'll let you click instead of posting it here. An interesting article about what technologies and approaches hitters are using to strike back in the world of pitch design and times-through-order penalties. Teams are also moving away from batting practice just being an uninstructive time to crush meatballs. When the Blue Jays signed Zach Stewart in 2019 it was apparently just to throw BP. Here's a video from the article about a Toronto companies' pitching robot: https://vimeo.com/454792845
  3. Sounds like Charlie is still feeling guilty over the Giles situation!
  4. Eh, I think it's fair enough to comment on with tact. It does noticeably affect the broadcast.
  5. Martin had a nice, patient walk. Groshans' earlier AB he was late on the fastball again and had a bad check-swing whiff on a breaking ball way outside.
  6. The Aquiline Ace is still a Blue Jay!
  7. Kirk keeps stretching out his right leg. It looks like he might have tweaked his groin.
  8. This CF camera is going to be great to watch for home games. It's such a better experience clearly seeing the movement on pitches.
  9. Roark only broke 90 mph once. It appears he's still looking for the velocity he lost last season.
  10. There were 6 balls put in play off him: 94 mph (flyout) 106 mph (HR) 106 mph (2B) 98 mph (HR) 100 mph (groundout) 101 mph (lineout) They completely teed-off on Allgeyer.
  11. SWR pitching around 92-93 with the fastball.
  12. Orelvis Martinez' single had a 105 mph exit velocity.
  13. Most of the fans behind home plate weren't paying attention and missed it lol
  14. Another error for Austin Martin. Martin to CF in 3,2,1....
  15. I thought Groshans bat looked slow, too. In videos his bat has seemed super quick. Maybe just a bit late today.
  16. Anyone notice that Judge seems to have a new set of chompers?
  17. Holy f*** that was an annoyingly produced inning by YES. Did we need a shot of Aaron Boone for every second? With his lack of respect for the health protocols too!
  18. I can't stand Buck either. It seemed like every inning last season he would complain about pitchers not using their fastball more.
  19. Zulueta has 52 walks in 77 career innings in Cuba. Hopefully he can figure out how to harness his stuff but he appears to be pretty wild. Edit - Actually 116 BB in all the 163.2 innings on Baseball Reference. His Cuban numbers are aggregated weirdly on BR. It also looks like he pitched 10 innings in an exhibition series of Cubans against Can-Am Indy teams in 2017.
  20. Guys like Ben Nicholson-Smith and Arden Zwelling are saying the Blue Jays don't have much payroll room left. It doesn't sound like there's a chance to get Odorizzi.
  21. 1/$8.5M + incentives that can raise that to $10M for Paxton. I would have done that in a heartbeat.
  22. I think YES might broadcast every Yankees game. With fewer opponents this spring a good portion might be watchable.
  23. I've already spent a couple bucks on 2 versions of this game and never played it.
