  1. Yikes that lineup. Off-day tomorrow. Why is Gurriel getting the night off?
  2. So Biggio going to play 1st in the 9th?
  3. Adam Ottavino has a 7.4% swinging strike rate this season. He actually did have a swinging strike against Villar. He threw 29 pitches. If literally one of the close check swings were ruled to be a swinging strike that would have given him a 6.8% swinging strike rate. The average reliever this year has an 11.6 swinging strike %. Ottavino had an 11.2% last year and his career rate is 11.0% Just some weak s*** all around lol. Maybe the Blue Jays did know what was coming but that's a pretty flimsy excuse of his outing. Chad Green had no swinging strikes over his 29 pitches. He has a 14.0% swinging strike rate this season.
  4. The fact that it is debatable whether Teoscar goes on the IL or not sounds like a win in the big picture.
  5. Font is likely getting DFA'd when Giles comes back.
  6. Reese McGuire has been on base ONCE since July 28th.
  7. Watching Vlad is just so disappointing.
  8. I don't think Caleb Joseph is on the 40 man roster. You have to lose a player to send McGuire down.
  9. Dickey's Blue Jays career was pretty good. It just had the specter of Syndergaard hanging over it the whole time.
  10. Roark is super hittable but still a bit unlucky to have given up 2 runs when you've struck out half the batters you've faced.
  11. The xwOBACON boys putting the Blue Jays up 3-0
  12. Fire Charlie and sign Russell Martin as a player-manager. That would maybe be the shrewdest move of all time.
  13. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/columnist/bob-nightengale/2020/09/03/independent-league-sugarland-skeeters-filled-void-saved-baseball-careers/5706506002/ After seeing that article I went to check in on how Kloffenstein was doing. He's had some control issues. 4.64 ERA in 9 games and 5 starts. 21.1 innings pitched with 20 strikouts and 12 walks. http://www.dakstats.com/WebSync/Pages/Team/IndividualStats.aspx?association=78&sg=MBA&sea=BAIMBA_2020&team=21357 Also lots of familiar names in this new mini-league. Dalton Pompey is there. As is Kacy Clemens, who I think is no longer in the Blue Jays organization. The article I posted above mentions Cullen Large but I didn't see any stats for him on any of the 4 team stat pages.
  14. Brings back memories of Jason Frasor https://www.fangraphs.com/players/jason-frasor/1906/stats?position=P#pitch-info-plate-discipline
  15. There are no Pace numbers for pitchers on Fangraphs for 2020 for some reason. I wanted to see just how slow Dolis has been relative to the league. Edit: For whatever it's worth, here's the leaderboard for Pace last season. Dolis had a 26.8 way back in 2013. The last season he was in the major leagues. I can't imagine he has sped up any since then.
  16. He was way better in Milwaukee than Boston. But either way he's been garbage lately.
  17. According to this tool using the 1989-2002 option: 6.129 for the best lineup 5.991 for the lineup from Game 6 of the WS
  18. The Brewers tie it up at 5 in the bottom of the 5th against the Tigers.
  19. Going by Fangraphs again they predict a .469 RoS win % for Toronto and a .419 win % for Detroit.
  20. Fangraphs has Toronto and Detroit both at a .508 remaining strength of schedule. It pretty darn close to a wash.
  21. Yep. 10 strikeouts to 2 walks. The Marlins have only hit 4 flyballs but have 2 homeruns.
  22. It's time for El Capitán
  23. I don't know if it was mentioned but Miami called up Jazz Chisholm and he is active for this game. Miami's top prospect and #33 overall according to Fangraphs.
