  1. I’m alright with this move. Let Romano get a save, it’s his birthday.
  2. He just seems so calm and collected out there.
  3. I’m thinking the choice to go with Gausman over Ray will turn out favourable
  4. This is much worse. Charging the mound is retaliation to the pitcher's already act of violence of hitting the batter with a 95MPH projectile. There's a huge difference between chirping at someone and throwing at them.
  5. The fact we're a true dynasty now with no cutdowns, and have an unlimited DL helps. I think I tried moving him, but the offers were like a 4th round pick. No one wants to trade for a to-be 39 year old returning from TJS after not pitching for 2 years.
  6. It's nice to see Verlander is back to his old self after his TJS. His average velocity so far this season is the highest it's been since 2011. Is he going to be our present day Nolan Ryan? I was kind of nervous with the TJS, dude's 39, but he's saying he plans to pitch for a long time. I think Kate Upton is keeping him young.
  7. And eventually these injuries have to catch up to him. And have an effect on his output when he is healthy.
  8. Robo umps just make so much sense. Even if there’s issues with them, at least it would be consistent for both teams.
  9. Is there an expected start time? Weather radar looks like it’s clearing around 9:10
  10. I am also looking to trade a bat for a starting pitcher. I will consider anything. Send me offers on fantrax if this interests you and I will look at it
  11. Season Name WAR 1999 Dante Bichette -2.1 2017 Rougned Odor -1.4 2008 Mike Jacobs -1 1986 Dave Kingman -0.8 1996 Joe Carter -0.6 2007 Ken Griffey Jr. -0.6 1982 Dave Kingman -0.5 1987 Cory Snyder -0.5 2004 Tony Batista -0.3 1983 Tony Armas -0.2 1964 Leon Wagner -0.1 2011 Mark Reynolds 0.1 2016 Jay Bruce 0.3 2019 Rougned Odor 0.3 2013 Adam Dunn 0.4 1984 Ron Kittle 0.4 1999 Richie Sexson 0.4 2021 Miguel Sano 0.4 2019 Renato Nunez 0.5 2019 Randal Grichuk 0.5
  12. The record is Dante Bichette. 34HRs with a -2.1 WAR. Even though his wRC+ was an even 100. He was just that bad defensively.
  13. Looked like a lot of weak contact to me.
  14. It takes a special type of player to put up 30 HRs and only have 0.5 WAR.
  15. I still don't get people obsessing over Grichuk. We got a very intriguing prospect for him, a player who had the same WAR last year(in less games played), and we save money. I'm also not sure why people are labeling Zimmer as a crap 4th OFer already, while sucking Grichuk off. The 2 times in his career he's played more then 40 games he's put up 1.1 and 1.6 WAR. He was worth 1.1 in 99 games last year compared to Grichuk's 0.4 in 149 games.
  16. I think it depends which of those 3 get injured. The odds that Berrios, Gausman, and Manoah all make 30+ starts is probably about 23%.
  17. The Rule: "When sliding into a base in an attempt to break up a double play, a runner has to make a "bona fide slide." Such is defined as the runner making contact with the ground before reaching the base, being able to reach the base with a hand or foot, being able to remain on the base at the completion of the slide (except at home plate) and not changing his path for the purpose of initiating contact with a fielder. The slide rule prohibits runners from using a "roll block" or attempting to initiate contact with the fielder by elevating and kicking his leg above the fielder's knee, throwing his arm or his upper body or grabbing the fielder. When a violation of the slide rule occurs, the offending runner and the batter-runner will be called out." Looking at the rule Garver both over slide the bag and threw his upper body at the fielder.
  18. If Rizzo rakes this year in Yankee stadium he might be gone. He has a player option, 16M. You're also missing Cole's 36M. Since the beginning of June last year he has a 4.15 era. Is he going to be worth his contract without the aid of sticky stuff?
  19. Not sure the Angels will be the ones to overpay. They have Rendon's and Trout's contract and Ohtani is a FA after 2023, I think they'll try to do everything in their power to re-sign him. My guess is the Padres. Wil Myers is a FA, so they'll have space in RF for a bad contract.
  20. I think he wants to grow a beard.
  21. Can Diego Castillo get added to debut waivers too?
