    I honestly think we see him bounce back to near 2021 levels. Sounds like his knee was giving him pain all year. Speeds not a part of his game so we don't have to worry about that declining.     I wonder if the yearly physical was to be just focused on his ankle/leg that was previously injured. Like if he had an arm injury or shoulder issue instead he'd still "pass" this annual physical.

    Mets first offer was also cancelled because of the physical. On the re-negotiated deal they couldn't agree on contract terms.

    Your first mistake was listening to what Boras says. He also said there was nothing of concern. Then the Mets found concern. There was certainly not 10 days between the physical and the Mets announcement.

    The Mets agreement was announced like 1-2 days after he had his physical. It was only 1 week between the two announcements. He had his physical Monday, by Tuesday night Boras had jumped ship and agreed with the Mets.

    The Belt signing is a little confusing, but maybe the Jays are just protecting against injury. This allows us to lose a couple of our good bats, and still have an above average lineup. We have a backup plan for every position, this is a deep team.

    Wasn’t Wisler non-tendered? RPs that don’t collect holds/saves are available all season to be picked up as needed. It’d be a different story if it was the LOD.

    I'd also not be surprised to see Bettman rig it so the Coyotes get him. He has a raging boner for that team, and seems he'll do anything to keep them there.

    He'd at least offer speed and defense off the bench. And unlike a lot of 5th OFer types he doesn't swing a wet noodle.

    Someone like Monte Harrison would be nice to bring in for a 5th OFer. Tools for days, and has a ceiling of a 30/30 player.

    Somewhat, but I'd expect to get Vlad cheaper. Vladdy has more team control, but he seems to be on the same path. We'll see if he bounces back next year, Devers had a down year after his breakout as well, but hasn't fully came back up to the 6+ WAR range over the past 2 years. Age 22 Vladdy - 6.3 WAR Devers - 6.7 WAR Age 23 Vladdy - 2.8 WAR Devers - 0.7 WAR (2 WAR - 162 Game Pace)

    Was looking at catcher depth. Maybe we fast track someone like Zach Britton, even though it seems like they're trying him more in the OF. Also, who is Karl Ellison, what's his story, why does he exist.
