  1. 2.4 WAR last season but yeah, they could definitely use an upgrade at SS next season. Do the Braves have a potential package for Bo?
  2. Cy Holmes looking good through his first two innings. How deep can he go?
  3. To you I suppose it's an enigma and just pure randomness as always!
  4. AA wants to catch the flight to Athens tonight!
  5. Chris Sale is injured which is the only reason why he isn't starting in a must-win game. They used their other starters prior like Fried, Lopez and Morton during their weekend series against the Royals. So I guess if their rotation was lucky in 2024, would you use that same description to describe the Jays rotation in 2023? Just curious. As well, losing an ace like Strider and being able to eventually replace him with Spencer Schwellenbach is quite impressive. Yeah a lot of their other arms like Elder, Winans, Vives and Waldrep didn't work out. Wonder what would happen if the Jays lost Gausman?
  6. Jays could have used Teo's bat in 2023 and most likely he puts up better numbers hitting at the RC instead of Safeco. And yeah, gives the Jays the inside edge to sign him to an extension. ] As well, you missed the essence of my argument. You shouldn't have to trade away a solid everyday player for a reliever. If the Jays had a better front office, they should have found and developed their own version of Swanson rather than trading away a solid outfielder for one.
  7. lol this is embarrassing.
  8. Nah, I just don't kiss the floor he walks on like you and some other posters on this board do! Atkins could do no wrong in your view!
  9. We'll see a lot of Jesse Chavez in Game 2.
  10. Yeah damn. Not liking their chances. Looks like Mets could possibly sweep the doubleheader and paving the way for the D'Backs to sneak in.
  11. Just got home and missed a pretty entertaining Game 1. Will have to check the highlights and watch Game 2 later. But wow looking at the boxscore, Braves pen blew it that 8th inning.
  12. Yikes seriously? If they lose Game 2, imagine the backlash they would receive.
  13. Yeah he's been a godsend for the Braves this season especially after losing Strider. I remember earlier this season some posters on here were criticizing the Braves rotation and their depth.
  14. Diamondbacks won 89 games this season you dingleberry lol. Before you start crapping on other teams, how did the Blue Jays do?
  15. If you're the Mets, you probably want to win the first game, so Atlanta is forced to use Chris Sale in Game #2 and not in the WC series. Otherwise, if Atlanta wins Game #1, I'm sure Jesse Chavez will likely get the start and eat a bunch of innings haha. Also, both teams are huge division rivals, so knocking one out of the Postseason is something I think either team would look forward to. Yes the team that wins Game #1 will most likely cover innings with other arms they don't plan on using in the WC matchup for Game #2, but they're not going to wave the white flag. Both games should still be competitive.

Bills defense isn't that great. Seemed like they couldn't stop Baltimore. Home field is so important. Don't think they could go into Baltimore and win in the Playoffs. Ravens are on a completely different level. Put aside their 0-2 start.
  17. Yeah would bring him back as a long man/depth starter at the price. Can give you 100+ emergency innings if needed. Not a bad guy to have around.
  18. Wouldn't the Brewers and even Padres be rested as well? I don't get it lol.
  19. Does Atlanta use Chris Sale in Game 1 or 2, or neither? Wonder what they decide to do.
  20. Relievers are volatile. Yes Swanson pitched great last season, but you shouldn't have to trade an everyday player like Teo for a reliever like Swanson. You develop those guys in your system or you sign a reliever via free agency. The Jays would have benefited from having Teo in the lineup in 2023 and who knows, maybe it would have made it easier to resign him for 2024. Overall, wasn't too crazy about it at the time and looking back still not. We'll agree to disagree lol.
  21. Nah, the ballpark still holds around 40-45K of seats and there are 81 home games. Even if they had sellouts every game, would be easy to buy tickets off StubHub or Ticketmaster Resale before game time if there was a specific game you wanted to go to. Sure maybe some matchups like against the Yankees or Dodgers would demand more money, or if it was a bobblehead or free jersey day giveaway, but for the most part it's not too difficult to get baseball tickets in Toronto and they aren't ever that much more than face value. Maybe Postseason is the exception, but heck even in 2015 and 2016, ticket prices to some of the games were going for like 50-60% less than face value.
  22. Haha yup. They were left disappointed. I still wouldn't get baseball season tickets unless I'm splitting them with like 3 or 4 people.
  23. In Toronto, he would have Vladdy who has been one of the best bats in baseball since June. As well, Teo has had success before in Toronto, without 2 or 3 Hall of Fame caliber hitters in front of him. Just saying.
  24. Those extra years of control on Swanson still are way more valuable and Macko could be something decent. Hope the Jays could pull another move where they trade an everyday player for a reliever with 3 years of control! Just brilliant!
  25. Yeah you never read my post lol. I said given all the holes they need to fill on the active roster, they likely have to spend more than $50-60M that they have available to address those areas. Also, I said they could roll with Clement/Barger at 3B in order to save some money. As well I might add, it doesn't help that players like Springer (25M), or arms like Green (10.5M), Bassitt(21M) and Berrios (18.7M) are tying up a lot of money on the payroll. Not the most effective use of finances. That's $75M tied up to just those 4 guys.
