  1. Haha load management? Not sure if there are any studies about that, but you bring up an interesting point. During the MLB Postseason, there were always off-days in between home/away games, so yeah Vladdy was only playing maybe like 4-5 times per week.
  2. It’s baseball. Nobody is saying the Rockies, White Sox, or Twins can’t beat the Jays, but going 2–8 against those teams was still really disappointing. Even if they had just gone 5–5, it wouldn’t have been ideal, but it also wouldn’t have been nearly as bad, and we’d be looking at a 17–14 record instead. I don’t really get why some people get so angry or triggered when you point out that going 2–8 against those teams was disappointing.
  3. Yeah, we can’t expect a complete repeat of last season, even though some people still seem fixated on it. I agree with everything else you said. The AL doesn’t look especially strong right now, so this slow start may not hurt the Jays as much as we originally thought. That said, I do expect some of the other AL teams - like the Mariners, Tigers, Rangers, and Orioles - to start playing better. The Jays will have to do the same and get rolling again.
  4. Yeah it was pretty clear they were targeting another big bat during the offseason, so even this FO know's they probably need another legit bat at some point. I mean, not sure there was even a Plan B available after Tucker unless we're talking about Bo or Bregman. Alonso really never fit this roster (and he signed early anyways) and Suarez needed to DH. Maybe Ketel Marte was a Plan B via trade, but never happened.
  5. No kidding. The point isn’t that losses count against you - obviously they do every year. The point is which losses. Going 2–8 against teams like the Rockies, White Sox, and Twins is exactly how you can potentially bury yourself over a season. Those are the games good teams are supposed to win more often than not.
  6. Have you actually watched any other Blue Jays games this season? 😂 Nobody is arguing that the Jays aren’t a good defensive team, but they haven’t been nearly as sharp defensively as they were last season. They’re still very good overall, but there have been some sloppy mistakes this year that we really didn’t see as often last season, and a few of them have cost them games.
  7. It has before - like back in 2021. I know that triggers you. The performances against the Rockies, White Sox, and Twins were extremely disappointing, especially considering they’re three of the worst teams in baseball. Obviously, you’re not going to win every game against them, but going a combined 2–8 against that group is unacceptable. No sugar-coating it.
  8. We need our SS to also cover some 3B as well haha.
  9. This could come back and haunt the Jays in September if they miss the division by a game or two. Need to beat up on the bad teams, or at least go .500 against them worst case lol. Sucks we ran into the Rockies and White Sox when they were actually a bit hot haha.
  10. I don't think it's a repeat of anything. Every baseball season is different. It's tough to run it back with the same main group of guys and expect the exact same results. This Jays team still may end up winning the division or grab a WC spot, but it won't follow the same script as 2025. This team you can already tell is different with some new and different strengths and weaknesses in comparison to the 2025 team.
  11. I know it's only a month in, but this team defensively hasn't been as sharp as they were last season. Just from the eye test.
  12. Yup. I doubt Toronto fans would pack an outdoor ballpark if it was 9 degrees or colder out and with the Leafs and Raptors both playing a Game 6 at home lets say 😂
  13. There's also a Timberwolves home game tonight at 9:30 PM EST.
  14. Yeah crazy! If he has a month where he can hit 10 HR's, watch out!
  15. Not sure I would pay Mark Grace $500M haha. Vlady's power stroke should start heating up as the weather warms up. His other numbers have been spectacular thus far. If Vladdy could settle in as a guy who consistently hits .300+/.900-1.000 OPS with 30 HR's with 5-6 WAR, I'll take that for the majority of his contract. The scary thing is, Vlad oozes of talent and could even be better given his offensive skillset. Like he has the talent to be a 10 WAR type of player.
  16. Would he still want to play in New York though? Yankees fans can be tough as well. Likely will be an opening at 2B since I doubt Jazz is brought back haha. I think he would sign somewhere where he can slide under the radar - maybe like Texas or even Southern California (with the Angels or Dodgers).
  17. Yeah they have an intriguing young core of positional players. Walker finally breaking out and Wetherholt has been heating up. Pitching wise, they need help. A lot of prominent posters on this message board back in the day were in love with the Cardinals front office.
  18. I went last June and loved Target Field. Amazing viewpoints from all over and tickets were relatively cheap in comparison to the Rogers Centre. Excellent food and beer selection as well. Felt like after that series, Jays took flight. Hopefully it's the same after this weekend!
  19. Bump... Looking for two owners in a 20-team dynasty league. If interested let me know. One of the teams has Aaron Judge.
  20. Yup, winning these last three series was huge! Nice way to end April after that awful start. Heading into May on a bit of a roll and with some better health. Hoping for a 18-20 win May!
  21. If the point is just to say things because you know they’ll trigger someone, then you’re kind of proving my point for me. I wasn’t even defending the Braves. I was pointing out the double standard. When it was Atlanta, the injuries were something to laugh at. When it’s the Jays, injuries suddenly become the go-to explanation. Either they matter when judging a team, or they don’t.
  22. It’s true, though - whenever someone on the board disagrees with or criticizes anything, they usually get tarred and feathered by the same majority of posters. 2-3 years ago, I was public enemy No. 1 for some reason just because I questioned a few things and criticized parts of the organization. That’s the whole point of a message board: discussion and interaction. Not everyone is going to agree on everything, and honestly, it would be no fun if they did. Is Jays24 really that bad of a poster? Come on. I’ve seen far worse, especially from trolls who derail entire threads. Does he say things people disagree with? Sure. Does he say things that are wrong sometimes? Of course. Everyone does. It’s a message board.
  23. If he keeps looking like tonight, for sure he'll get opportunities. The Jays have Rogers anyways, so nice to have options and different looks in the late innings!
