  1. Kendrick likely would cost the Jays Stroman or Sanchez, agreed.
  2. I'd prefer Conger to be honest since he's younger and cheaper. I can see AA trading for one of those guys instead of attempting to sign a Ruiz or Salty. He hates free agency lol.
  3. Yeah but what better reasonable options are out there instead? Cano is not coming here, I doubt the Jays go after Infante, and trading for Phillips wouldn't be that ideal. Ackely and Beckham fall under the same category as Espinosa, and to be honest I'd probably prefer Espinosa to those two anyways (it would be a close call between him and Ackely though). If the Jays could get 2-3 WAR out of Espinosa next season, I'll definitely take that.
  4. Espinosa would be better defensively.
  5. I agree, I think he's a great buy low option and I'm sure the Nats want to move him. I'd have no problem at all with Espinosa at 2B. Even with his bat, he'll likely bat 8th or 9th in the lineup anyways. Keep Goins as insurance in Buffalo.
  6. I'd definitely take a chance on Espinosa. Has some pop and speed and is still young. He strikes out a lot though.
  7. If he rejected that offer, he's a complete fool. I don't care what position you play, if you're offered $300 million you'd be crazy not to take it, especially as a pitcher.
  8. The Yankees need a catcher badly, so I'm sure they will go hard after McCann. Either the Yankees or Dodgers.
  9. Yeah forgot about that, plus the Jays have Maicer occupying a roster spot. Having Goins in Triple A as insurance wouldn't be the worst thing. A tandem of Johnson and Maicer at second wouldn't be that bad. As much as I dislike Maicer, he shouldn't be this bad again in 2014.
  10. It will be interesting to see because AA has never been one to sign big name free agents. Even last offseason, everything was through trade. I think his biggest FA signing was Maicer at 3 years lol.
  11. I wouldn't mind having Kelly Johnson back and sharing 2B duties with Goins. For $2-3 million, he can definitely be a nice add.
  12. Ah darn Chris. Next time buy two tickets and I'll drive! I've got to watch Postseason baseball live sometime!
  13. I'm not a big fan of Phillips, though I can see AA targeting him this offseason, especially since he probably was familiar with Phillips during his Expo days. The thing that scares me as every other poster is the idea of AA giving up a prospect like Sanchez, or Stroman to land Phillips.
  14. I don't mind Brett Anderson as the No. 5 starter since we all know his upside when healthy. Though I hope he's not the only arm brought in to solve the rotation problems. The Jays more than anything need a durable No. 2 starter who can give them 200 quality innings.
  15. I never liked Alex White. There is still hope with Pomeranz, though doubt he becomes anything significant (nothing more than a No. 4 or 5). Cleveland really only got one good season out of Ubaldo, though at the end of the day they still won the trade. This was a guy that two years ago everyone wrote off since he was a disaster. As much as I like Ubaldo, I'd be wary of giving him a 4-5 year deal this offseason. His high BB totals scare me.
  16. I'm willing to move Alfonso Soriano if anyone is interested. Likely the cheapest 30 HR bat on the trade market this offseason.
  17. I don't believe much in Navarro. Ruiz would be my first choice, and Salty would be my second choice. I don't expect Salty to hit like he did this season, though I think at the Rogers Centre he could put up solid HR totals. Obviously McCann is the best of the bunch, though realistically he's not coming here unfortunately
  18. That's why Ruiz makes the most sense in my opinion. Won't cost as much as McCann and Salty. Meso would be a nice buy low, though the Jays need a safer bet behind the plate for next season and Ruiz delivers that.
  19. Fielder isn't the type of player that ages well as he enters his 30's. He won't be worth what he's making for the rest of the duration of his contract.
  20. AJ in 2008 down the stretch was one of the best pitchers in the AL. A healthy Marcum and McGowan as your No. 3 and No. 4, can't complain. Plus the BP was amazing in 2008 as well.
  21. I say the team bumps payroll $20-$25 million which is reasonable. They need to upgrade behind the plate, and Carlos Ruiz is likely the best fit in terms of what he'll bring to the table and cost. I like Salty, though I doubt he puts up a 3.6 WAR again and hits above .270 especially with that extremely high BABIP of .372 which is unsustainable. I could see an increase in power output however. The Jays need to bring in a second baseman and likely another starter or two to fill out the rotation. A high order that's for sure.
  22. Instead of Ramos, how about going after Devin Mesoraco from Cincy? He has never been given a chance with Hanigan there. Though with Dusty Baker fired, I'm sure Mesoraco will be used properly.
  23. Those people are living in a fantasy land.
  24. In the postseason, I've said it time before that rotation would be incredible.
  25. Well, in a 5 game or 7 game series, and if the Jays have Morrow and JJ healthy and at their best during that time, they both can pitch like a Cy Young winner. Over the course of a full season that's a lot to ask from both especially with their injury history. I do agree, the Blue Jays still need an ace and a solid No. 2 (which you cross your fingers its Dickey, or the Jays catch lightning in the bottle with Morrow staying healthy or resigning JJ).
