  1. I have a great place for our next GM winter meetings for beer and food. I won't say on these boards, because I consider it Toronto's best kept secret haha
  2. I think Gibbers is the best poster. He puts idiots in their place! 900th post YAY!
  3. They should be. Who allows this stuff to the press?
  4. Possibly, I see them as the only other team willing to fork more for him.
  5. So I guess Felix Hernandez reminds him of Happ as well, since didn't he only win 12 or 13 games when he won his Cy Young lol?
  6. That means Jeff Locke must be an elite starter if we are using ERA to judge pitchers. Shocked his name wasn't mentioned by that poster lol
  7. Nice veteran bat off the bench.
  8. You think he'll do that again?
  9. 20 million per season for 7 years? Not going to end well.
  10. I can't think Choo gets more than that offer. What was he thinking?
  11. I wanted Ruggiano so badly. Would have been a great 4th outfielder and platoon bat with Lind at DH. Marlins were willing to trade him for anything...
  12. JP locked up Halladay to those team friendly extensions, when at the time I'm sure Halladay as a FA would have cashed in huge.
  13. The 2008 pitching staff was amazing, though the lineup was terrible. For crying out loud, guys like Shannon Stewart, Kevin Mench, Brad Wilkerson got way too many AB's that season.
  14. The funny thing is John Buck would have been the Jays best catcher last season lol.
  15. Well AA needs a plan and to be honest it doesn't seem like he has one. He either tries to add to the core he has, or he sells of pieces like Bautista, Rasmus, Reyes, Buerhrle, Dickey etc. If the Jays stand pat, there is no point in keeping the same roster around since they aren't good enough to begin with to contend in this division with the Rays, Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles. There are still some solid FA's out there - and all the would require is cash. Also, there are plenty of 2B upgrades available (Ellis, Roberts etc were on the FA market) and there are some options via trade (Mariners need to move Franklin or Ackely; Daniel Murphy could be available; Brandon Phillips; Danny Espinosa) all whom would be upgrades over Goins/Maicer. Also, AA needs to strengthen this bench - a bench of Maicer, Thole/Kratz, Sierra, Gose would be awful.
  16. And who says Danny Salarzar doesn't end up in that group as well?
  17. I hope so too. I don't want to see wasted starts on guys like Esmil Rogers, Tomo Ohka, Josh Banks, JA Happ etc. Lets see what Hutch and Stroman can do if they have great ST's!
  18. I don't mind rotation spots given to Hutch and Stroman out of ST if that's the worse case scenario. However like you said, other areas especially 2B need improvement.
  19. Um where's Sanchez and Stroman? Just an awful offer.
  20. My talks with that team broke down over some prospect swaps. Your offer is very strong, definitely something I will get back to you on.
  21. 100% agree
  22. That was more of a sarcastic remark I was making. I obviously know that means "diddly s***" going forward.
  23. Not until Salazar shows he can pitch 200 + innings. Sorry but Sanchez can go out there in August next year and make 10 starts and look unhittable. Does that mean he's a more valuable asset than lets say a Price or Latos if they had 2 years left after 2014?
