Adam Jones has a better hit tool, though he's not a complete player offensively any stretch of the means. Sure he's hitting .295 though his .OBP at .325 is awful. His BB% is worse than JPA. In terms of overall production, there isn't much of a difference between Rasmus and Jones as we have seen this season. Jones offensive #'s might look sexier due to the batting average, and the RBI opportunities he has had. Other than that, Rasmus is a very similar player.

I'd like to see Howie Kendrick or Marco Scutaro as targets for second base. Finding an above average second baseman who can hit and field should be the No. 1 priority.

I still think Bautista is a great player, though he isn't the same player he was in 2010 and 2011. He's starting to decline offensively as I think moving forward he's more of a .250/.360/.500 hitter with a 35 HR ceiling. And that's if he stays healthy and plays 140-150 games. He's still a great player, though he is no longer one of the top players in the game as he was in 2010 and 2011. He's going to be 34 next season.

I hope the Jays don't trade Rasmus (he's a very valuable piece as we all have seen this year). And it's not like his trade value is through the roof amongst the other teams in the league. Blue Jays are better off holding onto him, since over a full season he could be worth 5 WAR. He's basically a similar player to Adam Jones if you come to think of it.

I'd rather see Gose in 2014 as the 4th outfielder, replacing Davis essentially. Davis will likely want a 2 year deal worth $4-$5 million/per season and I'm sure they'll be a team out there who needs a CF will sign him for about that and promise him 400-500 AB.

+1 TSN has done an amazing job broadcasting CFL games and promoting the game. They've been really helping the league move forward. There is solid talent in the CFL - watching Ricky Ray and Chad Owens on the Argos for example - those are very good players. When I was in NYC at a Mets game, I was talking with a Mets fan - told him I was from Toronto - and we we're talking sports in general, and football came up since he asked me if I ever been to an NFL game. Mentioned the Argos and the CFL, and he even said that the CFL is a lot of fun to watch and that when he visited Toronto went to some Argos games as well.

If Toronto has so many NFL fans, then why are tickets for Bills games in Toronto not in high demand? Rogers can't even give tickets away. Just shows you that having an NFL team in this city doesn't mean that they'll be sellouts every game. The Bills aren't the greatest team by any means, but if Toronto managed to get an NFL team, its either a) the Bills or an expansion team - so in essence the team won't be that very good. Also, Toronto can't support an NFL team for a number of reasons: 1) Toronto doesn't have a stadium that can hold 80,000 + which is what most NFL stadiums hold in the U.S.; 2) Tailgating - not sure laws in Canada are the same as in the U.S. and it's not like there's any room around the Rogers Centre for tailgating which is quite a big deal in the NFL.

+1 CFL is an entertaining game. I enjoy watching it, more than the NFL at times since the game goes by faster with 3 downs instead of 4. I've been to several Argos games this year and even went to Montreal and saw them play the Als at McGill which was awesome.

That's how the Montreal fans are. If a team is doing poorly, the fans won't support them -- it's always been like that. I'm sure for baseball even more.

In the last decade or so, can't really think of anyone - Gary Sheffield came close in 1992 with the Padres (32 HR, 40 K's).

Montreal would need a downtown stadium. They can't play baseball at the O - the area is deserted. A new ballpark downtown, along the St. Lawrence and a winning ball club would be a recipe for success!

Only 58 strikeouts in 137 games. That is amazing.

The thing with EE is look at his K totals - they are amazing. For a profound power hitter like he is, he has really low strikeout totals which is surreal in comparison to guys like Davis etc.

I've always been a fan of Salty, and he's having a solid year this season. Jesus Flores would be a nice buy low option and depth in Buffalo, though he can't seem to stay healthy.

It would be nice, though not sure where they'd be able to build one. They won't ever play at BMO field since it wouldn't hold the CFL dimensions, and the Varsity Stadium at UofT has too small of a capacity and it isn't the easiest to get to by car and parking would be a mess around UofT.

I wouldn't guarantee him a spot in the rotation. Let him battle it out with other candidates for that No. 5 spot. Regardless, prepping him for the rotation in ST is probably the best thing to do regarding McGowan. Worse case scenario, you stick him in long relief. I don't have a problem with McGowan as the No. 5 starter, though he needs to prove he's healthy and he needs to have a very good spring. As well, the Blue Jays better have a lot of depth in the minors who could step in, which it seems like they will with guys like Stroman, Nolin, Drabek, Redmond etc. There's more upside with McGowan as a No. 5 than Happ. Though my expectations on McGowan aren't that high - don't think he'll make more than 10-15 starts.

We'll talk in the offseason...got some MLB ready bats in Casty, Davidson, and Franco.

Looks like I just threw out an opportunity at making the playoffs with a 4-23 record the past two weeks. Tough schedule for me at the end, and despite that my team put up pretty overall solid numbers during those two weeks. Likely against other opponents, I'd still be in the race this week. Oh well. Overall, I like my team heading into next season and moving forward. I got off to a rough start but played better over the summer. I expect my young guys like Profar, Myers, Garcia, Peralta, Turner to take steps forward and I have some solid prospects on the verge such as d'Arnaud, Singleton and Arenado.

I think the lineup if healthy is very solid. Reyes, Melky, Bautista, Edwin, Lind, Rasmus, Lawrie - that's a solid core offensively right there if everyone is healthy and plays to expectations. This team needs a second baseman though that can field and hit, and they need a catcher (though that likely won't happen). I'd love to see Marco Scutaro brought back to play second base - he'd be a terrific fit I think. The bullpen, well they have so many arms they don't know what to do with half of them. I think they are fine in that department, and have enough depth if someone like Janssen gets injured/disappoints or an arm or two takes a step back. The starting rotation is what needs to be addressed, though not sure how they go about it? Can't rely on Morrow as a No. 1-2, RA has pitched more like a 3-4 when he was brought in here to be the ace, Buehrle has been what he is, and Happ is just a No. 5 starter. They should have enough depth next year with Hutch, Drabek, Nolin, Stroman, Redmond etc instead of having to start Ortiz or Wang if there's an injury. Overall, the team needs better starting pitching, and they need to play better sound and fundamental baseball all around.

Re-assessment will happen next July. If this team is out of a playoff race by then, I expect major changes.

+1 That's extremely tough when half of the roster are from different organizations. Though still, with a WBC or without a WBC this year, this team was not fit to contend the way they played.
