  1. Wow that Upton deal is awful. As for Kershaw, I like Teheran, so Cats Ass is getting a young No. 1 starter. This deal will depend on what Bradley becomes. If Bradley has a year like Shelby, Fernandez or Teheran did last season, then it's a solid deal all around by getting two young high end starters.
  2. It's pretty funny how some posters are really underselling Jose Bautista's trade value. When guys like Choo are demanding more than Jayson Werth on free agency, Bautista's contract is huge value at 3/$42 million.
  3. Kevin Gregg is available for anyone looking for a closer. Best closer in baseball guys! Looking for a pick or a free pint of beer!
  4. Yeah Colby is arb eligible and becomes a FA soon and Lynn is still pre-arb and I think under control until 2016/2017 so I'll likely do it. I could always sign another OF during free agency. Adam Wainwright said he thinks Lynn can be one of the best pitchers in baseball and I agree. In real life, I'd love to see the Blue Jays get him.
  5. Off topic question: Would you trade Colby Rasmus for Lance Lynn in a salary cap fantasy baseball dynasty league?
  6. I could see them going with Ichiro again in RF for one more season. Tex is coming back so he'll be a nice addition to the middle of their lineup. Soriano should still provide solid power numbers hitting in that ballpark. Going with Wells as a DH is asking for trouble. He was awesome in April, though after that his bat was just awful - one of the worst bats in baseball. The Yankees shouldn't be giving Wells close to 400 AB's next season. I think the Yankees go hard after Carlos Beltran to play RF and DH. He'd be an excellent fit in that ballpark and DHing him every so often could keep him fresh over the 162 game schedule. McCann and Beltran are the big bats the Yankees sign and they will spend big this offseason after missing the postseason. As for pitching, I see them bringing back Kuroda and going hard after someone like Tanaka or Ubaldo. C - McCann 1B - Tex 2B - Cano 3B - Reynolds/Chavez SS - Jeter LF - Soriano CF - Gardner RF - Ichiro DH - Beltran
  7. The Yankees or Boston are the best fit for Brian McCann and likely would offer him the most years/money. The Yankees are in dire need of a catcher especially after what they rolled out with this season.
  8. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/11/rockies-pursuing-carlos-ruiz-jose-veras-joe-smith.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+MlbTradeRumors+%28MLB+Trade+Rumors%29 Rockies pursuing Carlos Ruiz. They have Wilin Rosario, though he can get time at 1B (with Helton gone) and in a corner outfield spot as well when he isn't catching.
  9. His low strikeout rate is very rare and special especially for the type of power hitter he is. Especially with the contract he is on, he's one of the best bargains/value in baseball right now.
  10. If Redmond is the Jays No. 3 starter next season on Opening Day, just wave the white flag.
  11. I don't think Davis gets a 3-4 year deal. Likely a 2-year worth at (4-5 M per like you said) + an option.
  12. I think K-Rod can get more than 900 K on the open market. He pitched well last season and I'm sure he gets something around $2-3 million on a one-year deal.
  13. There is no point in spending $5 million on Rajai Davis next season with Anthony Gose in the fold. The Jays are better to save the money and address other areas on the roster.
  14. I know he sucks, though the A's occasionally get lucky signing journeymen like Humber every offseason.
  15. I could see Humber going out there having a similar year to his 2011 season, especially pitching in that ballpark. That's A's baseball!
  16. I didn't renew my ESPN insider. Other than Keith Law's blogs, the rest of the writers are awful. Especially Jim Bowden who lives in a fantasy land.
  17. Its just going to make me sick how American media outlets like Fox and ESPN will be praising Farrell and how he lead them to a World Series.
  18. Nice Farrelly brother metaphor, though I'm sure Dumb and Dumber is better suited for a combination of Flowers and JPA.
  19. Many posters on here if I recall didn't want to do that at the time.
  20. I'd rather see the Jays go after Danny Espinosa, especially if the Nats non-tender him. He's proven capable to be a 2-3 WAR player, and he's a year younger than Beckham as well.

    Yeah I just don't see him as a $7 million/per year player.

The thing is last year, people would have cringed at that number. I don't think Dion is worth that much, especially since he hasn't been all that consistent with the Leafs.
  23. This is probably the best night of Grant's life.
  24. The Cards 2009 draft was pretty awesome.
  25. I'm a huge Lincecum fan (probably more than anyone on this board as I watch almost everyone of his starts), though $17.5 million per season is a lot for a pitcher who has had declining velocity and who last season looked liked he was done. He had a very respectable 2013 season, though I still wouldn't pay him that much per season. The one good thing about the deal is that it's only two years, so Lincecum should still be productive. I'm guessing Lincecum is worth more to the Giants than he is to another team since he's been there since 2007, won 2 Cy Youngs, apart of 2 World Series teams, and is a fan favourite. As for his walk rate, he did keep it in check in 2013, though previously his BB rates in 2011 and 2012 were worrisome. Even his 76 BB's in 2013 aren't that low. He's still generating strikeouts and swinging strikes despite diminished fastball velocity which is the plus. He's learning to pitch with a 90 mph fastball, though I still wouldn't pay him $17.5 million.
