  1. That's not how the Rays as an organization do business lol. Still, since Molina was on their team previously and the Rays resigned him, they would still be able to trade him anytime before June correct? I think that rule only applies to FA's who sign with new teams...
  2. Damn. What did I say about the Rays landing Hanigan. This is a real blow.
  3. As a backup or insurance in Buffalo, I'd like Marson.
  4. They have AJ and David Ross now, so I don't see them having a use for Salty. I could see Salty landing with the White Sox.
  5. Playing in that ballpark, I wouldn't be shocked to see AJ post an OPS above .800
  6. Kind of saw this one coming.
  7. I'd love to see the Jays sign Daniel Hudson. He's a fantastic pitcher when healthy.
  8. Oh wow, I can't believe it. I love Hudson - have been a fan since he was drafted and coming up through the minors. He looked like he was going to be one of the better starters in baseball back in 2011! I'd love to see the Jays sign him up - likely won't be ready until July, but still wow!
  9. I think in my posts I made it clear on what I meant when using the definition of "ace" or "No.1." Regardless, that was the point I was trying to get across. Fister is a great pitcher and I'm a huge fan of his, no doubt. As for rating pitchers, everyone's rankings will be different. Do I consider Fister a top 30-40 pitcher in the game? Sure he's definitely in that range somewhere. There are still other pitchers who aren't "No.1's" that I consider better than Fister. Though when I saw the phrase "borderline ace" I thought we were talking about being a top 10-15 pitcher in all of baseball. Case closed though!
  10. It's quite ridiculous. Seeing the word "ace" and Fister in the same sentence just struck me as odd. He's a great pitcher and all, though seriously? Thanks for the support! Seemed like all the members of the Fister fan club were all ganging up on me lol.
  11. Fister is not close to the best, like Kershaw, Hernandez, Verlander, Wainwright etc. There are so many other starters who'd I consider closer to them than him. He's a solid pitcher and I think he's been great the past three years, though he's not close to their playing field.
  12. This is mind boggling from Detroit's perspective. I'm shocked they never held out for more, especially with the cost of FA starters this offseason. Fister on the open market would get a sweet deal.
  13. In my opinion, these are some of the pitchers who I'd take over Fister: Kershaw Grienke Bumgarner Cain Wainwright Miller Lynn Cole Bailey Latos Cueto Cingrini Strasburg Zimmermann Gonzalez Fernandez Lee Hamels Teheran Minor Medlen Harvey (when healthy) Price Cobb Sabathia Lester Peavy Verlander Scherzer Sanchez Shields Sale Hernandez Darvish Holland Weaver Like I said, I think Fister is a great starter so I don't know what the point of arguing is. I just don't view him as a No. 1 starter.
  14. Where did I say Fister wasn't going to be "a reliable source for great production going into next season?" I said he was a great pitcher. I just don't consider him close to being an ace.
  15. So I guess that means Bud Norris all these years has been an ace and No. 1 starter with the Astros? When I use the word "ace" or "No. 1 starter," I'm not using them in the terms of a team's rotation. I'm using them in my own evaluations of pitchers and what they are. For example Norris was the "ace" of Houston's rotation, though do I consider him a true No. 1 starter - nope.
  16. He's a great pitcher (not arguing that). I just don't consider him in the same class as a Kershaw, Hernandez, Wainwright etc, who I view as elite No. 1 guys.
  17. What does the number 30 have to do with anything? Are there 30 No. 1 starters in all of baseball? In terms of an elite No. 1 starter, there aren't many around. I consider guys like Kershaw, Hernandez, Wainwright, Verlander etc. as true No. 1 starters.
  18. Fister is not an ace. He's been a very solid pitcher over the last three years, though he's not an elite No. 1 starter.
  19. You would also figure a reliever like Storen or Clippard. Still if this true, then great deal for the Nats.
  20. A "borderline ace?" I wouldn't go that far.
  21. Fister has been a great pitcher the past three seasons. Pitching in the NL will be a breeze for him. Great move by the Nats if this is true. Adding Fister with Strasburg, Zimmerman and Gio definitely will give Atlanta a run in the NL East.
  22. That's why it gets annoying when I read a post saying "Pitcher A signed this deal with team so and so…what a bargain. Where was AA on that deal?" like millions of times. Why would bargain free agents like Johnson, Kazmir, Tim Hudson etc want to pitch in this launch pad? It likely would cost the Jays more to sign these guys for them to consider Toronto.
  23. I saw. I actually was going to e-mail you about him haha. Now pitching in Oakland, I know his price likely goes up a bit Back in the day, I would fap every time I drafted Scott Kazmir in fantasy baseball.
  24. Any pitcher is a perfect fit in Oakland
  25. I recall the odd one or two posters suggesting the Jays take a chance on Kazmir a year or two ago and they got tar and feathered. Ironic how things change.
