  1. Does Toronto have another similar pitcher like Nestor Molina that the White Sox might covet?
  2. Maybe enforce the pitch clock between pitches forcing the pitcher to get back on the mound to deliver his pitch to the batter. I know there is already a clock though it's not strictly enforced. If a pitcher goes over his lets say 20 second clock, then a ball is rewarded to the hitter etc. As well, someone mentioned that when doing a pitching change, there is no need for the manager to go out to the mound. Substitutions in any sport don't have a manager or coach going out on the floor or field to substitute a player. Funny when you actually think about it. Additionally, shocked it wasn't mentioned the time instant replay/challenges have taken. It's absurd that a manager can wait close to a minute before officially challenging the play. Should be like in football, where a flag is thrown from the dugout right on the spot.
  3. Yeah it really restricts a manager, which is something I'm not a fan of. The issue of pitch count becomes an issue as well. You don't want a reliever throwing more than 30-40 pitches in any outing. Just a tough rule to iron out and likely would never work.
  4. I wonder what kind of package the Jays could get if they even dealt JD as well?
  5. I'm sure the league then would make a rule that if pitchers are taken out because their arm is sore, then they have to be placed on the DL right after or can't pitch in a game for like 5 days or something to that extent.
  6. It seems like Manfred was a big fan of Kevin Gregg closing out games.
  7. It's crazy how many failed starters turn into elite relievers.
  8. Matt, did you get my trade proposal?
  9. Kijijji can also be a good place as well to get tickets last minute, but you're dealing with the seller directly and there is no guarantee/fan protection like StubHub offers. If you do buy off someone from Kijijji, make sure they are hard copy tickets, not electronic. Scalpers in front of the Rogers Centre are pricks, and won't budge in lowering their price before the game, unless you go 2-3 innings after and they are desperate to unload them. Another option is check the Blue Jays site in the morning, as new tickets are always rereleased from employees, players, etc. Again, you should be fine seeing the game on the 13th and you won't have to pay more than face value.
  10. Buy your tickets on gameday. Prices will drop big time in comparison to what they are now. Remember the dome holds close to 45-50K, so it's not that difficult to get in for below face value, trust me. Just remember you'll have to print the tickets somewhere, as the Blue Jays aren't like other MLB teams where you can scan your ticket from your phone.
  11. I think my entire pitching staff is on the DL.
  12. Can my name be put on the waitlist if someone ever leaves?
  13. It's funny when Rays pitching prospects that were coming up a couple of years ago e.g. Matt Moore, Jeremy Hellickson etc. had so much hype surrounding them, even during their first season. They never became anything special.
  14. Kershaw (opt out), Price (opt out), Harvey, Fernandez, Keuchel could all be the FA arms on the market possibly.
  15. Who are some of the pitchers of that free agent class?
  16. The Yankees must think Starlin Castro is really good if he's still their starting second baseman in 2019.
  17. Matt Moore did go 17-4 in 2013.
  18. Yeah with the SP options out there this offseason and the lack of Jays pitching depth in the higher minors, it wouldn't shock me to see Atkins & Shapiro go the safe route as we've seen them so far in their tenure. Rather have something then be left with nothing next spring.
  19. I'm not a huge fan of Dickey and to be honest would hate to see him back with the Jays, though I'd have no problem with it and like others mentioned it would be a safe move. Those 200 innings are valuable. Sure it's frustrating watching him every 5th day because you have no idea what you'll get, but he's capable of putting together good stretches of starts as we've seen in years past. Another 1 year/$10 million contract for 2017 wouldn't get me excited though at the same time from a baseball perspective, it would be nice insurance to have considering the Jays are familiar with Dickey and wouldn't require a multi-year commitment. As a No. 5 starter, you could do worse.
  20. Yeah you would think they'd bring on someone like Campbell or even Mike Wilner for the times Buck Martinez is away.
  21. You can probably find a similar or better platoon 1B cheaper in the offseason and I'm certainly sure without a two-year commitment attached.
  22. 6IP, 4H, 1ER, 0BB, 9K performance vs. San Francisco last night. Yeah he hasn't been that good this season like in previous seasons, I've acknowledged that. Though considering his previous success and what the acquisition cost it would take to acquire him, having him around as a 5th starter isn't that bad if the Blue Jays can't go after their plan A, plan B, etc.
  23. He has a chance at a World Series ring with the other 9 teams holding down a playoff spot, so what makes Toronto any different?
