    Yeah as of now, Kikuchi is the No. 5 starter on paper. Unless the Jays bring in another arm or someone like White has a surreal ST. Both are ahead of Thompson for sure, so if the Jays rotation is healthy for the most part, Thompson likely won't see much time up at the MLB level, especially if the Jays sign another SP.

    Thompson is appealing because he has options. Allows the Jays to have depth in Buffalo with MLB experience. He's 29 already and if he needs to be called up to make 10-15 starts during the season because of an injury, won't hurt the Jays at all.

    Thompson put up decent numbers in 2021 with the Marlins. He's going to be in Buffalo most of the season, but great to have a guy like him down there with options. If he needs to make 10-15 starts at the MLB level because of an injury, he won't hurt the Jays. Overall, excellent depth move.

    He's likely just here for one season anyways. Unless he gets promoted in the organization, though looks like he has his eyes set on the Country Music Capital haha.

    Mattingly's bench coach role with the Blue Jays won't be impacted. Nashville would be a great spot for an expansion team. Such an awesome city!

    Alcantara Luzardo Lopez Cueto Rogers Garrett That's a nice rotation. It's a shame the Marlins don't put together a somewhat decent lineup and bullpen and they could be a sleeper team in the NL. Tough division though with the Mets, Phillies and Braves but still, anything can happen over 162 games.

    Another lefty would be nice down in the pen. Jays should sign Danny Duffy as a No. 5 starter/multiple inning reliever.

    Yeah it's nice to see the Blue Jays have all their bases covered when it comes to their lineup. This was an issue earlier on last season when guys were going on the IL, which set the team back a bit in the standings. They at least can roll out an above average lineup and fielders now if one or two bats misses 3-4 weeks.

    Yeah they probably will go over this season and try to sneak under the following season or next. Does Ryu count towards this season? Sorry forgot if it was mentioned before.

    Probably as a veteran presence like you said, and maybe they plan on moving another arm for a bat. As well, playing in Florida always has an appeal to some players.

    Braxton Garrett or Trevor Rogers would be really nice. Doubt Miami moves Lopez or Luzardo unless they get a huge young piece back.

    So far, I'm very impressed with the Blue Jays offseason. They have made a lot of moves to correct the mistakes/shortfalls of 2022. They've added some LH balance to their lineup with Varsho, KK, and now Belt. They've significantly upgraded their outfield defense. They have a ton of roster depth now, so even a top bat or two go down to injury, they have enough reinforcements on the MLB roster to make it through a couple of weeks of the season, whereas last season they had to rely on Tapia/Zimmer on an everyday basis which hurt. They strengthened their rotation with Bassitt. One more starting pitcher and another high K bullpen arm if possible, would be icing on the cake. This team will be built very well for the 162 game season now IMO.

    Belt will have a higher WAR than Bellinger this season.

    Looking forward to seeing what he could do at the Rogers Centre.

    $9.3 is a lot for Belt. He likely has to be playing everyday or on the strong side of a platoon at DH. This puts the Jays over the luxury tax, so hope they add more via free agency if they could like another pen arm or No. 5 starter.

    I kind of wish the Jays in 2015 had Roy Halladay. I know he retired from baseball in 2013, though would have been nice to see him pitch in the Postseason for the Jays at some point.

    Never thought of that. Good question to ponder. They would have had to resign him to an extension though.
