They likely aren't trading him this offseason though hopefully the FO lays some ground work on signing him to an extension, so they could build around him for the next decade. If they can't, it's something that needs to be explored as they approach closer to his free agency.
A lot can happen over the next two seasons. This team might even look worse with an aging Springer, and Bassitt and some key pieces leaving FA like Chapman. Who knows if Manoah rebounds in 2024 and 2025. As well, Gausman right now is at the top of his game, though there is always the chance for slight regression. So a lot depends on how this FO compliments the core next offseason via trades and free agent signings.
Obviously if this team is a 100-win team and they look like World Series contenders, Bo isn't going anywhere in 2024 or 2025. But if they float around mediocrity or can't take that next level from a 90 win team in 2024/2025, it's better to get some assets in return rather than lose him for nothing.
