Like both pickups of Bertuzzi and Domi for the Leafs. Adds some toughness and both of those guys can at least provide value offensively. Bertuzzi should be good for 50-60 points over a full season. Domi should be good for the same and maybe more if he can recapture his 2018/2019 form.
  2. Yup, he f***s you even when he's not starting and has a red flag lol.
  3. Nice, I bet the Marlins run line today. Should have put more money down haha.
  4. A full No Firing clause? WTF? I wouldn't be extending Guillermo Martinez with the way this lineup has approached things. I know he doesn't go up to hit for them, but you pretty much have majority of these bats struggling and not hitting anywhere close to their career power numbers.
  5. LOL. Upset about missing Musgrove and editing my lineup. Have Ruiz and Bryant on my bench. Can't make any changes to my lineup.
  6. I'll go with KK tonight
  7. Ohtani will get $500 million minimum. Probably will get more IMO. I don't think you'll ever see this big of a free agent or star player ever available.
  8. Yeah if the cost isn't that high, he makes a lot of sense for this team.
  9. Yeah definitely the failure to address the bullpen in 2021 is one of the things you can criticize Atkins and the FO on. They thought they could patch it up with washed up relievers and it cost them the Postseason by ONE game. Instead of taking the cheap route, they should have coughed up more for better arms, especially with that roster they had. I look back at the roster the past three seasons and yeah I think the team in 2021 was their best chance in this window. You had a Cy Young winner in Ray, a dangerous lineup with huge power and all having breakout years, and a decent rotation with guys like Manoah, Berrios, Matz and Ryu. The bullpen was an utter disaster and its a shame they never properly addressed the BP at all in 2021. Like you said, a lot of things can change so much year to year. Even 2022 was precious and this season as well. If this team decides to keep the status quo and sit on the fence in 2023 and say "we'll focus on 2024 more," then you have to question the FO and blame the players for the wasted opportunity in 2023.
  10. f***ing game at 11AM. I had Patrick Corbin on my IL and red flag was removed for today and now can't start Musgrove and Greinke in the LOD! Also have Fraley in the DDL and he's locked into my lineup and on the bench. SOB!!!!! f*** these 11 AM games!!!!
  11. Hunter Renfroe as a power RH bat who could play a corner OF spot and DH if he came cheap. 14 HR with 40 RBI so far and a 1.0 WAR. He's pretty much been worth the same as Varsho so far this season haha. Varsho is still a better player obviously.
  12. What would it take to get Paul Goldschmidt? He's a free agent after 2024 and making $26M next season. Cards aren't making the Postseason this year. His bat would be perfect, though position wise would be tough with Vlad at 1B, unless you split both of them between 1B and DH, though sure both wouldn't be too pleased. Regardless, adding a bat like Goldy would definitely improve this lineup! Arenado would be a great target in the offseason, though doubt Cards trade him after signing him to that extension.
  13. Luis Robert quietly putting together an excellent season - .276/.337/.575 with 24 HR, 46 RBI and 8 SB. His 3.8 WAR is third best in all of baseball behind Ohtani and Acuna.
  14. Vladdy for Jesus Luzardo. Would be an interesting trade idea.
  15. Yeah not saying bench guys like Vladdy, Kirk or Varsho. You gotta hope at least one of those guys get out of their funks. Maybe Kirk sees only playing time behind the plate instead of at DH if the Jays bring in a power RHB. Adding another RH power bat who could play in the OF and DH wouldn't be a bad thing at all IMO. Might help the lineup overall if you can add another solid bat and might help with the RISP issues. Another high leverage bullpen arm would help IMO, along with getting Green back at some point. Would rather add a high leverage bullpen arm if possible instead of a starter.
  16. Yeah that was a huge blow. That 2021 team looked like they could have went on a deep run in the Postseason. The FO did a poor job in addressing the bullpen that season and threw games away with guys like Brad Hand instead of going after better arms.
  17. I've never seen so many people heated over a Blue Jays trade like this before. Seriously, Moreno and Varsho get mentioned like everyday almost. Or things like "we should have traded Kirk instead."
  18. Yeah pretty much the decision will be based on how the Jays play this month. So far on what is considered the easy part of the schedule, the team is 7-8. Lets hope they show signs of turning things around. These next two-three weeks will be crucial in deciding whether the FO adds or sells at the deadline.
  19. Right now this team is a fringe playoff contender. They need to start playing better. The status quo isn't working. You can't keep relying on hoping that Vladdy, Kirk, Varsho and everyone struggling are suddenly going to heat up and be .900 OPS bats the rest of the way or hope Manoah magically comes back in July and pitches like he did in 2021 and 2022. I hope this team adds to make upgrades around the roster rather than just keeping the status quo. Can't throw away this season given the small window. Try to make upgrades without mortgaging the farm system.
  20. If that's the thinking around here, then I think the Jays need to look at moving guys on expiring contracts if they're not adding any other pieces at the deadline. What is the point of keeping the status quo and sitting on KK, Belt, Merrifield and Chapman if the Jays wave the white flag on this season?
  21. Jays should have went all in last trade deadline.
  22. Definitely would be one of the greatest personal accomplishments in a regular season. Would be fun to see it happen. It's a shame the Angels might not make the Postseason. Such an awful organization.
  23. Hopefully he doesn't make the same mistake and he trades Bo this offseason after a career year!
  24. Franco has been one of the best players in the AL this season. Very disappointing he didn't make it. Might still make it as a reserve if some players opt out or because of injury.
