  1. Yeah it's a possibility he doesn't develop anymore power and he just is a .750 OPS type of bat. Not sure what kind of extension he would get or ask for - don't think it would be too crazy though.
  2. Trade Manoah for Kim. Sign Soler to DH. Sign another OF with pop like Duvall. Bring back Ryu on a cheap one-year deal to warm up the No. 5 spot in the rotation. Lineup: RF Springer SS Bichette 1B Guerrero Jr. DH Soler 2B Kim C Jansen/Kirk LF Duvall/Kiermier CF Varsho 3B Schneider/IKF Rotation: 1. Gausman 2. Berrios 3. Bassitt 4. Kikuchi 5. Ryu Boom!
  3. Kim did manage to hit 17 HR's last season playing half of his games at Petco. In his last two seasons, he has been a .700-.750 OPS type of bat. Last season he started showing some more pop and had a 112 wRC+. In the KBO he did display some okay pop. Given his age and his improvements in 2023, I could see him being a bat who could hit between 20-25 HR's and maybe hit for more gap power as well. Lastly, his speed is a huge asset (38 SB's last season) and he increased his BB% to 12% last season. I think he would be a great fit here, and the Jays would have the entire season to convince him to sign an extension.
  4. Last season according to Fangraphs, Kim would have been the Jays best positional player and second best player on the roster overall behind Kevin Gausman.
  5. Don't think anyone is backpedaling at all. Most rational posters on here know there is a possibility Manoah could rebound.
  6. Regardless, this upcoming season will be an important one for Manoah. He either takes a step forward and returns close to his 2021/2022 self or he becomes the next Ricky Romero/Josh Towers. If he takes that step forward, both the Jays and Manoah benefit! If he doesn't progress and we see more diminished stuff from him, he loses even more trade value and likely becomes a DFA candidate or non-tender candidate next offseason. If Manoah shits the bed again in 2024, his value goes even lower and he could be worth nothing at all. Again, the Jays FO know more than we do, so they can make a more informed decision in regards to Manoah than we can. His value yes is at an all-time low, but he still has some value given the 4 years of control, his $750,000 salary this season and the potential/upside he carries. So yes, a team might roll the dice on an arm like Manoah like trading a player on an expiring contract or another similar player as Manoah who has potential and needs a change of scenery. Someone like a Jarred Kelenic when he was with the Mariners or someone like Kim fit that bill. The other issue is the relationship between both Manoah and the organization. If Manoah is still a baby, complains and has attitude issues, or if the relationship is very strained and hasn't been repaired, you likely have to move him regardless. You don't want a player like him in the clubhouse or organization. If the relationship has been mended with both the FO and players, if Manoah has humbled himself and has put in the time this offseason to work harder and to get into better shape, then I have no issue in giving Manoah a chance to bounce back in 2024. If the Jays end up trading him, I'll trust enough in their FO that they saw something they can't fix or the relationship was too strained. I won't lose sleep over it. If they decide to keep him, I'll trust enough in their FO that they believe Manoah could bounce back and will be rooting for him!
  7. Damn Grant if I knew you were going to Cuba, would have asked you to pick me up some Cohibas!

The Playoffs for the Leafs will be easy to make.
  9. If Rodriguez could either be like a Jose Contreras as a SP or Raisel Iglesias as a reliever, I'll take that in a heartbeat.
  10. Kim can be a FA after 2024 because of the 2025 mutual option. Hope is you could extend him. Even if you can't I would still consider it. Kim could post a 4-5 WAR season and provides depth in case the Jays decide to trade Bo.
  11. I'll have to agree with Jonn and Term here. If you can land Kim for Manoah, you have to do it. Manoah comes with way more risk moving forward and Kim has just posted seasons of 3.7 and 4.4 WAR.
  12. Adam Duvall would be a great fit in Toronto.

Called it saying Tampa could upset the Eagles. Wish I included them in my bets though haha

Cowboys could really use Bill Belichick. Cowboys are chokers when it comes to the Playoffs. Was right on the possible upset, wish I just had my bets that way as well lol. Love and the Packers though put on a clinic and played awesome. Would have been tough to beat. Wonder if they can give the 49ers a tough time, but I think San Fran at home dominates them.

Definitely a great game! Could have went either way. Really think the refs missed that pass interference/holding call at the end there, which would have given the Rams a 1st down and put them in better FG territory. Clearly his jersey was grabbed. The NFL wanted Detroit to go through. Rams defense couldn't make the stops they needed. As well, shocked they never used their timeout at a 2:30 minute mark when it was 2nd and 9.
  18. Frenchsoup isn't even an entertaining or funny troll. It's just spam posts.
  19. Really hope the Jays and Chapman could have a reunion if his price range now is in the $80-100M range. Can't pass up on that opportunity.
  20. Reading posts justifying IKF as the primary 3B = puke
  21. Saw the Detroit Tigers picked up Shelby Miller in late December for $3M. Nice pickup. Loved him last offseason as well as a high upside BP arm and he went on to post a 1.71 ERA and 0.91 WHIP and 42 K's in 42 innings with the Dodgers last season.

My picks for this weekend: - Browns over Texans - Chiefs over Dolphins - Bills over Steelers - Cowboys over Packers - Rams over Lions - Eagles over Bucs I think both the Browns/Texans and Rams/Lions are a coin flip. Browns have the best defense and an experienced QB in Flacco, though Stroud and the Texans are at home and an exciting team. Rams have played great football as of late and are playing in a weather controlled environment which helps. Lions can be tough at home though. Should be a fun game regardless. Taking the odds on the Rams though. If I had to pick some upsets, could see the Packers upsetting the Cowboys, since Dallas always chokes in the Playoffs and the Bucs upsetting the Eagles, since they're playing at home and the Eagles have looked awful. As much as I hate Kansas City, I think they beat the Dolphins easily. Can't see Miami going into the cold weather in KC and the Dolphins have played very poorly against teams with a winning record. Bills should crush the Steelers. Only way they lose is if they beat themselves.
  23. My team is already crap and I don't even have room for him.
  24. Definitely comfortable with Chapman between $80-$100M. Add someone like Soler or JDM or Hoskins alongside with Chapman, that's a solid offseason IMO.
  25. The Yankees could still spend money on Snell, Montgomery or Hader. The luxury tax to them doesn't exist. Money to them is no object. Like DP said, the Yankees still do come with some risk. If a lot of their key guys go down, then things could get ugly. I don't see them as a 95-win team but hey they're the Yankees and it could happen. If they beat up on some bad teams and bank some early wins, makes things easier for them the rest of the way. I still have them as a borderline WC team around the 88-90 win range, but they could very well win 95+ if they stay healthy or they could also be a .500 team if things go wrong. You could even say the same thing about the Blue Jays.
