  1. The game isn't played on Fangraphs or computers. JDM and Teo both would have made a difference in this lineup, even with guys struggling. Jays needed power bats, even if they had sacrifice some defense in the process. You still could have signed IKF to play 3B and have JDM at DH with Teo in LF. So now you're admitting this team wasn't good enough even before the offseason? Who does that blame fall on then? It all points to Atkins. You just admitted yourself.
  2. I never bet for or against the Jays. Always lose.
  3. As well, Boras is his agent so could be tough, but you never know. Sucks about Manoah since he had a couple good starts and looked like he figured things out. Should be able to find another mid-rotation starter and roll with one of the guys Laika mentioned in the No. 5 spot. Just gotta hope Gausman and Berrios don't have a significant drop-off. Same with Bassitt.
  4. Probably Rodriguez gets one of those spots? Could also always add another starter during the offseason via free agency or trade. Shouldn't be too difficult. Gausman, Berrios and Bassitt will all be another year older however.
  5. Sucks especially since Manoah looked like he was going to have a bounce back season.
  6. His last two starts have been pretty decent actually. He might be able to carve out a career as a No. 4-5 starter in the bigs.
  7. Infielder David Fletcher becoming a knuckleball pitcher in AAA lol.
  8. He doesn't really hit for much power at all or get on-base. Has to hit close to .300 to be somewhat decent. Not sure he would be an upgrade over Turner at DH. Only plus is he would be younger.
  9. Haha Meh as a 4th outfielder who could play CF, and 300 PA type of guy. Didn't want him in an everyday role. Wanted Varsho in CF and the Jays to target a bat with some pop for left field. Stated that several times.
  10. Some receipts showing I wasn't against the KK and IKF signings.
  11. Looks like he's going to get 400-500 AB's. Let's see how he holds up over a full season. Offensively a regression likely is coming.
  12. IKF has been a solid signing by Atkins thus far. Has even held his own as a starter at 3B. Needed another big bat however in one of the corner OF spots or at DH, if they were planning at having IKF starting at 3B.

I may pick up a shirt as well. How many days for shipping?
  14. Dodgers/Yankees should be a fun series this weekend!
  15. Are these type of insults allowed on here? I couldn't care and not offended but there was a post the other day from one of the moderators on how certain insults will lead to bans.

So all Leafs fans now becoming Oilers fans? Nice shirt though haha. Pretty cool!
  17. 100% agreed. I don't think the status quo cuts it. Atkins does need to make some moves to upgrade the MLB roster if the Jays want any chance of jumping ahead of those teams in front of them. If they keep the status quo, they likely stay around .500 for the season.
  18. Still a lot of teams to jump over. Not too worried about the Tigers and the Rays seem to have lost their magic from previous years and have a lot of injuries. Twins still are pretty solid and Boston has some solid starting pitching. I think the Royals as well will be in the thick of things still - they were my sleeper AL team this season. Rangers have been banged up but if they get everyone back healthy, they seem like a team that could go on a major run. Would be nice if Atkins added to this core, so the team could go on bit of a run. I don't think keeping the status quo is the answer.
  19. A split with the Orioles isn't bad at all, but like you said, the series didn't inspire much confidence especially the way the first two games went. As well, given how the Jays dug themselves in a hole early this season, splitting 4 game series won't cut it. Need to go on a run and hopefully they could sweep the A's in Oakland this weekend! Maybe these two last games are a turning point for this team, we'll see!
  20. Only when I include the Yankees in a parlay lol.
  21. Yeah having a decent bounce-back season but nowhere close to looking elite like he was in San Francisco.
  22. Rodon has won his 6th straight start and is 8-2 with a 3.08 ERA with 71 K's across 73 innings. FIP is still quite high however and was at 0.6 fWAR before tonights start.
