  1. Yeah and with an off-day tomorrow, that's definitely a valid question to ask.
  2. You need to chill man. Swanson didn't look right and was getting hit hard - what's the problem in making that observation? Obviously sucks they didn't have other options. Not sure if Green was available to pitch on back-to-back days. Ideally would have been nice to ease Swanson back into action, but understand the circumstances.
  3. Sucks the way they lost today, but still impressive taking 2 of 3 from the Yankees and definitely encouraging. This pitching staff, especially once Gausman gets right and Romano/Swanson are at full strength, will be one of the best in the league and fun to watch on a nightly basis.
  4. I'm sure the Jays have the upper hand in bringing back Kikuchi if they want to and if he wants to stay here in Toronto. Looks like he found his comfort zone here, so that would give the Jays an advantage.
  5. I think more of the criticism of Atkins this offseason was not signing a power bat or two for this lineup, when the team desperately needed a power bat. I myself had no issue with bringing back KK or signing IKF, but I didn't want them signed here as starters and I didn't want those contracts to hinder them from signing anyone else. Gotta hope Vlad, Bo, Kirk, Varsho and Springer all start hitting for some power. Don't want to waste another season of great pitching!

  8. Yeah this Jays team is likely an 85-88 win team with the current roster so a borderline WC team again. Said it even during the offseason.
  9. Yeah I don't really care about the standings right now at all. Blue Jays sit 7-8 and in last place in the AL East doesn't mean much or if anything. They've held their own despite some injuries and lineup struggles. Rotation looks like it's coming into its own with Berrios, Bassitt and Kikuchi building off their strong 2023 seasons. I really think Yariel could come in and be a valuable piece at the backend. Gausman is the real concern and the Jays need him to return to pitching at an elite level like in 2022/2023. Hopefully it's not an injury or anything and it's just because he wasn't built up enough during ST. Bullpen has been rock solid and will get stronger when Romano and Swanson get back. You can't expect Garcia to pitch like he has all season long, but definitely ride his hot arm over the next couple of weeks. Green has been encouraging. Lineup is still the main issue. Guys like Springer, Bo, Vladdy and Kirk have been huge disappointments. Getting Jansen back will be a huge plus, lineup really needs his power. IKF has been a pleasant surprise actually, but any rational baseball mind knows regression offensively is coming. Still looks like he will be a 1.5 - 2 WAR guy when all is said and done. Turner has been real solid but regression is coming, though he'll still be a reliable bat in this lineup. Biggio I think can be a 15-20 HR bat with 15-20 SB's and post a high .700 OPS or low .800 OPS as a platoon bat. Schneider needs to play more often. Seems like every time he's on the field, good things happen.
  10. I'll go with Babe today again

It's the truth man. It's deja vu every Playoffs with this group haha. They have probably one of the best talented scoring rosters in the NHL, but come Playoff time, tougher and bigger teams can shut them down. I actually would rather have the Leafs face Florida instead of Boston or even Tampa. Florida doesn't have the offensive weapons like Boston has, and Bobrovsky is someone who can either be really hot or cold. Plus facing them a second consecutive year, maybe they make adjustments over the 7 game series and could come out on top. I don't see the Leafs winning a lot of 2-1 games in the Playoffs. They have to score at least 4 to 5 goals.
  12. Still early but yeah sucks the Yankees have been on a roll like they have in the early part of the season. All the smack talk on here against the Yankees during the offseason on how they would be awful show you some people on here wear blinders when it comes to baseball and the Blue Jays.
  13. I don't think they did. If he can be a 2-3 WAR starting pitcher every season, there definitely is more value to that. Plan is for him to be a starter. Worst case scenario, if he doesn't pan out as a starter, he ends up in the BP.
  14. So what is the Jays record now with David Schneider in the lineup?

Florida going to give the Leafs trouble in Round 1.
  16. LOL. Only 13 games and 40 PA's. If you think IKF can keep up at that pace, you're nuts. I hope IKF can be a 1.5 - 2 WAR guy over a full season, I'll be happy.
  17. Yariel will be in the rotation permanently. The Jays gave him a 5-year deal just this offseason. As long as he's effective and healthy, he's in the rotation.
  18. LOL easy there. It's against the Rockies and he's only pitched 6.2 innings so far this season. Definitely off to a fantastic start, but don't get ahead of yourself.
  19. It's against the Rockies, but yeah what a start over his first 6.2 innings of the season!
  20. I traded Correa for Story in the LOD a couple years ago, and then last summer traded Story back for Correa again haha. I remember both times making those deal, they were heavily questioned on my end. I probably still take Correa in dynasty given his higher OBP skills and since he's still just 29. Story did offer some more pop and SB's though lacked the OBP skills so in leagues like the LOD, he wasn't as valuable as in regular 5x5 leagues. Plus he likely more was a product of Coors Field more than anything.
  21. Carlos Correa is made of glass. Right oblique strain and placed on the 10-day IL. He was off to a great start this season as well.
  22. I will go with the Babe as well
  23. For SP depth, Braves have Elder, Vines (who they just called up and could start on Tuesday), Winans (sucked in his start), Dodd, and Ynoa. They possibly could call up Hurston Waldrep in June/July, their top pick in the draft last year and he could make a huge impact right away if all goes well. Definitely could be a difference maker. Reynaldo López has looked good early in the rotation. Not sure how long that lasts but hey looks like it's turning out to be a great decision stretching him out as a starter in ST. Fried, Sale, Morton and Lopez is still pretty solid but if they lose another arm, I think the Braves will have to make a trade at the deadline.
  24. That sucks. Strider was my favourite pitcher to watch every 5th day he was on the mound. Would try to watch everyone of his starts. Going to be a depressing 2024 season now. Will try to find another arm to watch.
