  1. That must suck. Grew up in Kamloops. Little different story there.
  2. Really don't get the love for Martin. I guess I'm not spending enough time hunting down pics of him in his underwear though.
  3. Next year, you people should use Google images, instead of FanGraphs before ranking.
  4. I just wanted to show everyone how to finish near the bottom of the league, and not quit.
  5. It's OK guys. I get it. You need to protect your little pond. Don't want to let any big fish in.
  6. I can offer you 'the freeing up of three roster spots'.
  7. Can someone post the BORED links. I'm at work and don't have access.
  8. By that logic, because so many outs are made at first base, we should have our top defender there.
  9. I crunched some numbers on Milb pitchers to target, and Maese came out #1 on my list in all of Milb.
  10. Not trying to bias things here, but:
  11. Post the results already. I am eager to accuse the heterosexuals of having terrible taste in men.
  12. Three years, twelve-fifteen million. Worth the risk.
  13. My entries must be kept confidential. I am on the Harvard men's soccer team, and I have already gotten in s*** for this kind of thing once already this year.
  14. That time in the playoffs when the Jays were in full-panic mode and Colabello snagged the ball at first, and then ran across the diamond and tagged a guy out between home and third. That was pretty awesome.
  15. Yeah that Billy Butler signing just seemed so odd. Kind of destroyed the legend of Billy Beane. Aside from the fact that it was just plain bad value, they were a rebuilding team and in no need of an aging, declining 1st baseman/DH for $30 million. All I can think is that Beane was expecting a bounce back and figured he could trade him for a profit.
  16. Not really, we were gonna sign Edwin 4/80- this is only 10 million more than that, and I'm sure we were gonna pay at least that for an outfielder.
  17. The next 'value buy' out there will be taking failed starting pitchers and converting them into effective relief pitchers. There's a ton of guys out there that aren't good starters, but would work well as relievers. Tommy Milone would have been a great pickup for us. Wade Leblanc would have been good too, and both those guys signed for under a million. All you need to do is look at their stats first time through the order. And then they're probably likely to improve on that, because they don't have to save anything in the tank for the third or fourth innings.
  18. I hate seeing our two guys so unappreciated. I don't see why we can't bring both of them back. Get a reasonable deal. Edwin 3/55 and Jose 3/35. With those unexpected savings, the money wasted on Smoak won't even matter. C Martin 1B Morales 2B Travis 3B Donaldson SS Tulo LF Pearce CF Pillar RF Bautista EH Encarnacion Frankly, we could still use an OF, and just have Pearce be a super utility guy. With all the old and fragile players, he'll probably get 500 AB.
  19. Looking for the following: EH masher - lots of HR with good OBP (any age) Closer - under 28 with good ratios Can offer: Domingo Santana Marcus Semien Hunter Strickland Spencer Adams Grant Holmes Orlando Arcia
  20. After three days thinking over this summary of the super-post, I think there's another level. Often times, when I see someone rambling on, others step up to defend them and make them feel better about their rambling coherence. I can picture Olerud being a thirteen year old in Spiderman underoos, unsure of who to protect with his heroic intent, finally being given a chance to champion the beset upon, as only a true warrior can.
  21. If you make a lot of trades, you're going to make some mistakes along the way. Particularly when trading prospects. Just a fact of fantasy baseball. It's usually the guys that can only agree to one or two trades a year, that lead the charge in ridiculing the bad trades. If you're so scared of losing a trade, that you can't pull the trigger on any deals, you've already lost.
  22. Did his appearance on Vikings come up yet?
  23. Definitely agree with the idea of making the shooters go further back. To reduce the goalie's skill to guessing whether the shooter is going to shoot left or right is stupid.
  24. Oh yeah, I forgot about Saunders good point.
