In a 20-teamer (with 20 keepers), it's hard to justify hanging on to holds guys, particularly when they aren't getting that many holds. He's also 31, with Dyson firmly entrenched. And teams try to avoid letting pre-arb guys close, as it drives up their cost. Osuna was an exception.

I'm not trolling. I'm using exaggeration to illustrate that maximizing a player's value isn't as simple as turning a reliever into a starter.

Let's turn all our relievers into starters. Then trade them for 3x their value. Then pick up more relievers. Then convert them into starters. Repeat.

I'd rather robot umps controlled the strike zone than the safe/out calls. A bad strike zone can get into the head of a hitter causing them to flail at garbage. A bad safe call at first base doesn't make you adapt your game at all. And a little human error gives us something to talk about. What would baseball be without a chance to yell and boo the umps?
