  1. Have fired out trades to everyone. Check your inbox, and feel free to counter or comment.
  2. Hold on. Did he send cash through the mail?
  3. They'll put Gausman on the DL pretty quick, and that should make the decision a lot easier.
  4. I agree with Rodriguez starting in AAA. Didn't realize he had so few IP. I was expecting Swanson to be back, but maybe not. 8 relievers seems like a lot. We need a legit 4th outfielder when we carry Springer and KK. Not sure who it will be. Clement is more of an IF, so is Espinal. Who does that leave?
  5. LOCKED IN (unless injured): 19 players 1B: V Guerrero 2B: Undecided 3B: IKF SS: B Bichette C: A Kirk/D Jansen (DL) LF: D Varsho CF: K Kiermaier RF: G Springer DH: J Turner SP1: K Gausman SP2: J Berrios SP3: C Bassitt SP4: Y Kikuchi SP5: Undecided CL: J Romano (DL) SU: E Swanson RP3: Y Garcia RP4: T Mayza RP5: C Green RP6: Y Rodriguez RP7: Undecided Bench1: Undecided Bench2: Undecided Bench3: Undecided Bench4: Undecided OTHER 2B: E Clemente, C Biggio, D Schneider, S Espinal No one has really laid a claim on 2B. Clemente looks the best, but is being used in a utility role. Biggio is getting paid 4 million and has looked decent in ST. Schneider was bad at the end of last year, and hasn't looked good in ST. Espinal is OK, is owed $2.7 MM and has been OK in ST> Prediction: Clemente and Biggio make the team and share 2B in some capacity. Schneider gets sent down to AAA to try and find the magic again. Espinal makes the team as a bench/utility guy. SP5: B Francis, Y Rodriguez, A Manoah, P Espino, M White Prediction: Francis has run away with this competition and should easily be the SP5 Manoah will start on the DL or minors as even if healthy he doesn't have the innings in. P Espino will be our 6th starter, bouncing back and forth between MLB and AAA as injuries come and go. M White is out of options, but it doesn't matter. The Jays can't carry him. We'll try to push him into AAA and take our chances. Y Rodriguez will be a long reliever, and may get some spot starts later in the year. RP7: T Richards, G Cabrera, N Pearson, H Juenger, H Danner Prediction Pearson, Juenger and Danner will all get sent down since they have options. Richards will likely claim the last spot. Genesis will start in the minors and be the first guy up. Bench Spots: As mentioned previous, one will go to Biggio/Clemente One will go to Espinal, Remaining 2: J Votto, D Vogelbach, E Escobar, N Lukes, D Schneider, A Roden, B Serven, A Barger Predictions There's only room for one of Votto or Vogelbach, and I think Votto is going to take it. Escobar just hasn't shown enough. Schneider is better off getting regular reps, plus we need an OF I think Roden makes the squad. He looks decent in ST, and is the 4th OF we need. Injuries: If D Jansen is injured to start the season, B Serven makes the team. If an infielder gets injured, D Schneider makes the team. If an SP is injured to start the season (other than A Manoah), P Espino makes the team. If an OF is injured to start the season, I honestly have no idea who makes the team - maybe S Berroa?
  6. I'd feel pretty comfortable DFA'ing Zulueta today. 26 years old. Hasn't had a BB/9 under 6 in his last two years.

  8. Exciting. https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/mlb/blue-jays-among-the-teams-to-get-a-city-connect-jersey-in-2024/ar-BB1if0LK?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=404f1e8be145407a8c21e201ae32e6d6&ei=7
  9. That was legal in Canada up until about ten years ago.
  10. That's the best goodbye to Toronto letter I've ever read.
  11. I wasn't feeling great about 2024, especially after we missed on Soto and Ohtani. BUT THEN, we spent $15 million on Kiner-Falefa. Now, I'm super-excited about our chances. Fans are super hyped about this signing. Totally makes up for our other misses.
  12. I'm going to throw up if the Jays trade a bunch of our best prospects away for one year of Soto. No reason at all for the Jays to do this unless top managment has been given an ultimatum to win or else.
  13. If we trade Bo, we can sign TA for $2 million and free self-defense classes on how to take a punch.
  14. True. These are the FanGraphs estimates. I think the MLBTR estimates are likely more accurate. Not sure if they've factored in the shortage of position players available.
  15. My thoughts. 1. Let Chapman go. Maybe the numbers say it is a good deal, but his second-half was so atrocious, I can't stomach the idea of seeing him at 3B for the next 5 years. Let Biggio/Schneider have a full-season there and save the money. 2. Avoid trades. We don't have a lot of depth, in either the starting 26, or the farm. Let's not deplete it further. Free Agents to Pursue: Jeimer Candelario: Not that much worse than Chapman and expected to go for 3/45 instead of 5/120 Jung-Hoo Lee: Bit of a wildcard, but numbers in KBO are better than Ha-Seong Kim and expected to go at 4/52 Lourdes Gourriel: @ 3/36, he seems like a bargain. Not sure he can repeat, but feel he's better than what he's show so far. And love his enthusiasm for the game. Rhys Hoskins: This guy could be an absolute steal. Sounds like he could go at 2/27 - and make Belt a distant memory. Bit of a risk with the knee, but at that price, worth the risk, especially with a couple option years. Tim Anderson: Personally, I can't stand him but he's projected to go at 1/8 which is an absurd price, and we'd all just have to stomach him.
  16. These guys always say that. It gives them a little extra leverage in negotiating. It's like having an extra suitor. The guys that really want to retire just do it, without talking about it, like Kyle Seager.
  17. Hmm. Would love to bring Hoskins in as our DH/1B. If the Phillies won't pay him 20MM for one year, decent chance we could get him for 4/$60 or something along those lines.
  18. This is way too much money for Chad Green. He's good but $11 million a season for him, or any non-closing reliever? Terrible. Feels like we could have plucked someone out of FA for way less, that is almost as good. Would have preferred that $22 million go towards Bellinger or YY or Rhys Hoskins or Jung-Hoo Lee

Are these people looking at statistics at all? What metric tells them Kwan is better?
  20. OK, I also need to clear up some roster space. Have the following available for draft picks. Will accept the 1st reasonable offer received: Austin Wells 24 © 743 OPS Mike Ford 31 (1B) 798 OPS 16 HR in 219 AB Jordan Diaz 23(2B/3B) 637 OPS 10 HR in 272 AB DJ Stewart 29 (OF) 839 OPS 11 HR in 406 AB Gabriel Arias 23 (SS) Stone Garrett 27 (OF) 800 OPS 8 HR in 234 AB
  21. Gonna be moving Bichette and Hunter Greene in the next 24 hours. Hit me up, if you are interested, (and which one), and I'll tell you who I like on your roster that would get the deal done.
  22. The SP slots were converted to P slots, but you get an error initially because you have more than 3 pitchers in SP slots. Once you move them out and save it, they'll properly reflect it as P slots.
  23. Don't want to see Dodgers Braves or Astros win. Could stomach any of the others.
  24. Cubs would be perfect. They just had a great success with Bellinger, and feel confident they can turn these kind of guys around.
