  1. Would you trade Cano for that in LOD? If so, let me know and I can start putting the pieces together.
  2. Mixed slowpitch has already dealt with this. You need to throw one strike or it's considered an intentional walk - even if it's just really bad control. The rule could be, if first base is open, and a player gets four balls, and no strikes, they are awarded second base. Seems kind of a shame that one of the greatest hitters ever got 20% of his AB taken away from him because he was too good.
  3. The change would mean that instead of throwing four pitches wide of the plate, the pitcher simply indicate to the umpire that he wants to intentionally walk the batter, and the batter would then be awarded a walk. The justification is that: 1) It would speed up the game (albeit marginally - as there aren't that many intentional walks, and they don't take that long.). 2) It would save the pitcher's arm (again marginally), as it's usually not a super fast pitch. Naturally, I am against this change as: 1) Sometimes pitchers miss with their intentional walks, and the results are very exciting. 2) Sometimes batters can reach pitches that aren't outside enough, which creates some awesome baseball. 3) Runners can still attempt to move down the bases on an intentional pitch, although it is rarely done. 4) Fans enjoy 'booing' during the intentional walk. Don't take that away.
  4. Romo signed for $3 million on a one-year deal. Hurts that the Jays couldn't have beat that offer. Even 2 years for $8 million seems like a steal. Apparently, he wanted to stay in California, but I'm sure he could have been persuaded. Seems like as soon as you're old, even if you had a great season, you're in the discount bin.
  5. Need to free up a roster spot. Offering the following MiLB players for waiver draft upgrades or 2018 picks. Renato Nunez (3B - OAK) Spencer Adams (SP - CHW) Grant Holmes (SP - LAD)
  6. BORED Cuts Post your pending cuts. One man's trash is another man's treasure and all that. Cuts: Robbie Erlin (SD - SP): Decent but TJ surgery and out till 2018. Nick Hundley (COL - C): Not awful, but back up to Posey. Nick Tropeano (LAA - SP): Decent but TJ surgery and out till 2018. Colby Lewis (TEX - SP): Not very good.
  7. The Canadian baseball HOF is kind of a joke. It's basically just a big house in the middle of nowhere, with some newspaper clippings, and memorabilia from the players. Not sure what Cooperstown is like, but I hope it's a lot better than what we have.
  8. It's nice to see you're wearing your big boy pants today.
  9. Two times. And this coming from a guy who made 50 Mark Teahen references.
  10. Will you be following this up, with a sad, whiny little post about how you didn't read my response because....too busy and important?
  11. Didn't FeatherD just quit a league like three weeks ago, after being inactive for half the year, because he didn't have time? Doesn't this go into the calculations at all?
  12. Thanks Spittin. My roster looks good except I'm missing Bruce Rondon. It's on the BORED spreadsheet, although I don't remember who I traded for him.
  13. Good question. I suspect that if they still had their first round pick, they would have only lost one pick. Also: Who edited my title? Do you guys not understand the concept of clickbait?
  14. Chris Correa, the Cardinals executive who hacked into the Astros database, will be placed on the permanently ineligible list. Of the people placed on the ineligible list, everyone is dead, except for Jennry Mejia and Pete Rose. Others that were formerly placed on the list include 'Shoeless' Joe Jackson, George Steinbrenner, Ferguson Jenkins and Marge Schott.
  15. Try this: https://archive.fantasysports.yahoo.com/mlb/2016/1101?utmpdku=1
  16. When I do my farm rankings, I'll be using 5 sources. So far, I'm thinking: Baseball America FanGraphs MLB Pipeline Baseball Prospectus 2080Baseball Feel free to argue for replacing one of them. Keith Law
  17. I suspect Stroman has become insufferable. I wouldn't want to hang out with him either.
  18. Thome should get in on the first ballot, but he probably won't. Not too many guys with 600 HR and a career 950+ OPS, but he never got any respect, despite never being tied to steroids. He's probably the most underappreciated slugger in modern day. When he hit #600, there was a quick mention of it on SportsNet. When Jeter got close to the #3000 hit, there was a month of news updates, and interrupting live broadcasts of other games, every time Jeter was up at bat.
  19. Hundley is solid and would probably only cost around 3-4 million, if he's willing to be a backup, which he probably is, by this point. Defense: OK Pitch framing: Opinions vary Working with pitchers: Excellent Hitting: Good Arm: Poor
  20. I don't watch hockey, because it's stupid, but it's dumb that if a team wins (not overtime or shootout), they get 2 pts, and the other team gets 0. But, if a team wins in a shootout, they get 2 pts, and the other team gets 1 pt. The total amount of points awarded per game should be consistent.
  21. Here is mind if someone wants to link the sheets. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1L6ZEsL1mVVKNy69kkSEOnOlwDOG2lj4tsJQiW5kOYTo/edit#gid=0
  22. He has no interesting in leaving the Mets. And after Toronto ran Escobar out of town after his forced apology tour, I doubt anyone with a checkered past would consider Toronto. I mean, our announcers can't even say the word 'Indians' here, so how are we gonna deal with someone accused of spousal abuse?
  23. He might have some quirks, but Joey Bats is the heart of this team.
  24. OK, enough with the David Jacob jokes. They've run their course. Time to move on. Find someone else who said something stupid once, to pick on.
