  1. So you can name 30 pitchers who will outperform Fister next year?
  2. Chris Cotillo ‏@ChrisCotillo 12s #Nationals confirm it. It's Lombardozzi, Krol and Ray for Fister. #Tigers LOL WTF.......I FEEL LIKE WE GAVE UP MORE FOR HAPP
  3. Haha yeah there has been a lot of crap in Lee trades. The crap I was referring to was the Indians-Phillies Lee trade. I remember at the time, everyone was expecting two of Brown/Taylor/Drabek going the other way.
  4. Maybe not ace, ace, as in one of the top elite pitchers. However, if you think ace as in a top 30 pitcher (30 #1s), it's hard to say he hasn't been. 9th in fWAR over the last 3 seasons. He's also averaged 195 IP over the last 3 years.
  5. God I hate packages like that. Almost all the mediocre prospects in the deal end up becoming nothing. Remember the Cliff Lee trade a few years ago? All trash. I would always go with one quality prospect over three to four mediocre ones.
  6. I don't think it will be Rendon. Detroit is already in good shape with Castellanos/Kinsler but I don't think Washington would move Rendon right now. That would leave them with Espinosa who they've shown they have no faith in. Imagine it was Rendon and then tomorrow we see a headline that says "Nationals sign Robinson Cano".
  7. Ramping up the post count so this thread wins.
  8. What ever the return is; I wouldn't be surprised to see Storen/Clippard as part of it.
  9. Jose Fernandez being the exception?
  10. I can see it now... Angrioter: Alfonso Soriano for Mike Trout Me: Trout is a once in a generation type talent who is still only 22 years old... Angrioter: I throw in Bruce Chen.
  11. It's true. The playoffs are completely unpredictable. My ultimate goal is to create a team that is a perpetual playoff contender because anything can happen if you consistently finish in the top 8.
  12. Can this please happen.
  13. I would say dinger is the favorite going into next season, with about three or four teams close enough to be competitive and steal it in the playoffs.
  14. I'm sorry, can you speak up a bit?
  15. Factoring in control + salary; it would be a train wreck from St. Louis' perspective.
  16. Exactly. He may be a solid middle tier shortstop but there are only 2 shortstops you can actually consider "elite" fantasy options. (I wouldn't qualify Reyes as elite in an OBP/SLG league). Lowrie is also has a career line of .264/.332/.415, so it's not like he's some safe bet. He has one good, not great, year and has injury history on top of that. He has good pop, will probably record a 5-10 ranked slash line, but offers no speed. Short version: a quality option at shortstop but nowhere near elite. I also agree with you on Kemp. When healthy, I still think he can be a very effective option. I would be surprised if he doesn't hit at least 20/20 over a full season.
  17. Wait, why would anyone count Jed Lowrie as elite?
  18. It's funny how the trade activity is constantly fluctuating in our league. It will be dead for a week or two, and out of nowhere 5 trades will happen in one day.
  19. I completely agree. He certainly has the potential to be a #2 next season, but if you pencil him in for #2 production and build the rest of your rotation expecting that; it would be a huge mistake. Lets hope for at least 160 IP and anything more is a bonus.
  20. I heard this restaurant leads the east coast in Isolated Cheese, Calories per nine meals eaten, and FIP (Fat Independent Pasta).
  21. That's a damn good package as well. 3 young arms that all have a decent season under their belt.
  22. Just to satisfy curiosity, would you share what your offer was? If you don't want to disclose that info it's no problem.
  23. When it's all said and done, you have to go with your gut. I applaud you for going after the guys you want. It could go wrong, but at the same time if a couple of these guys break out you will look like a genius.
