I wonder if that list would still look as sexy if we included all of the high ranked arms that became busts (or fell well short of their ceiling) over the last 5 years.
I would rather AA do nothing, finish the season with a mediocre record and get fired; than have him pull a Jack Z, make a bunch of s***** moves to try and save his job, miss the playoffs while setting us back 5+ years, and then get fired.
That might be my achilles heel. Any time I'm making a movie in dynasty leagues, I make it assuming the league will still be existent 20 years from now. That's why I'd probably take both Harper and Stanton over Cabrera. I don't think either of them will ever put up Cabrera lines in their careers, but I value 10-12 years of good/great production over 4-5 years of elite production.
Damn. In the 5th round, I grabbed a guy named Oscar Mercado. I literally knew nothing about him. I just saw the name "Oscar", and that he was drafted by St. Louis. So yeah, I basically got Oscar Taveras in the 5th round.
This is so sad... I feel like crying man. I was 9 when he debuted and had that near no-hitter in his first season. I can't believe 15 years has gone by just like that.
I guess I'll have to rename my account to Fearthedrabek.
True. 9/10 times when a guy with so few posts makes a thread like this, it's complete ********. However, every once in a while, that guy turns out to be a jedi prophet who foresees a huge blockbuster.
In other news, I have a friend who once dated the Tampa Bay Rays mascot's sister and he received a hot tip that the Rays might be looking to shop David Price this offseason.
It's hard to give THAT much respect when they consistently have over a $200 million payroll . There's no excuse for not making the playoffs every year. I mean, when you have the luxury of dishing out $283 million to three players in a span of a week, obviously you're going to always be good.
