  1. The Adam's apple wasn't quite a dead giveaway
  2. What, she was a man?
  3. f*** wRC+ ... "batting average is the best way to evaluate a hitter." - theblujay
  4. Rbi's are hard to come by when they have a great lead off hitter, then Baker puts a guy with a sub .300 OBP in the 2 hole
  5. Melky didn't tell the team until he was rehabbing on his latest injury according to AA, and when he told them finally, he said it had been bothering him since 4 months prior. That's what AA said in the interview anyhow
  6. Probably wont be scored a stolen base, but that's too big a gap with 6 outs to be taking bases IMO
  7. Rajai taking second while up 6 runs in the 8th? That's pretty gay mr davis
  8. Why are hookers and cocaine considered a downward spiral?
  9. I think your argument fell apart when you said that trading for Happ was trading for "a name."
  10. I think when you take into account that the Jays have allowed the 2nd most runs and third most Earned runs in all of baseball, yet scored the 9th most, you would realize that run prevention, not run scoring was far more responsible for the Jays not scoring more than their opponents.
  11. one shot of a guy sweating and the universe thinks Dickey is crying in the dugout... holy f*** people...
  12. The entire rant was a giant strawman blowing in the wind.
  13. Very interesting piece and he makes a lot of pretty good points to think about that many have probably never thought of before.
  14. So ... Let me understand. You believe that getting hits is the most important part of the game. So if two p,ayers are hitting .260, it is your contention that they are equally talented at getting base hits. So then, how would you ever decide even after watching both players say, over a full season, which one you'd rather have on your team if the most important stat you have says the players are equally talented in the most important part of the game? I'm going to a banquet is ill be back later to answer whatever it is you come up with.
  15. So what you're saying is you can't tell based on batting average how good these two players are? Seems like you're making a pretty solid argument against batting average as being,as you said, the most important stat. And again, stop with the strawman crap. Nobody wants to eliminate watching games and players.
  16. Christ. Player A hits .260 Player B hits .260 Which one is more valuable?
  17. I actually like Goins defensively, solid fundamentals.
  18. That's the crux of it. It's not about being a bad stat, it's about being incomplete and misleading.
  19. Then you can wait for the first set of blogs that this site will be posting, because if the admins allow me to be one of the writers, it will probably be my first article now.
  20. I assume you missed the part where he asked to argue that it isn't a good stat....
  21. Yes I can. It's too bad you wouldn't understand it because it doesn't fit your hive mind view of baseball. I find it hilarious that you constantly have been attacking people in this thread for using advanced statistics as being "hive minded" when the use of such stats are still by far the minority opinion amongst baseball fans. If anything, it's those who are dead set against trying to understand or expand their knowledge of baseball who suffer from a hive mind mentality.
  22. Sent you a pm mr. admin sir
  23. I care deeply about batting average. It's a top 50 statistic from which I judge a players offensive talents.
  24. Well you don't risk getting thrown out and leaving nobody on base with one out. At least a failed bunt still has a guy on base. And when you ask Rajai to lay down a bunt, you're pretty much asking for failure.
