  1. DeRosa was signed to a major league deal, not a minor league one.
  2. Why does every minor league signing get blown into stupidly epic proportions every f***ing year?
  3. "Bill Ballou (Worcester Telegram & Gazette): 1. Davis, 2. Cabrera, 3. Donaldson (Trout 7th) I am a strict constructionist re: “valuable”. If the award were Player of the Year, Trout would get my vote. I’m of the school that in order to have “value” you have to help your team be good, at least to the point of contending. The Angels didn’t truly contend. To fully develop that logic, players from non-contenders should not be listed on the ballot at all, but the BBWAA insists that we fill out all 10 slots, so I did, even though I did not think there were 10 worthy candidates from contending teams." This idiot can't lose his vote soon enough. Says that the MVP must come from a contender, then gives his first place vote to Davis, who was on a team that was less of a contender than Kansas City.
  4. "The idea of digging deeper into players is aimed at comparing players from different eras." Is he serious?
  5. Jays with current rosters and it's not even really close.
  6. Yeah, it always costs a couple legit prospects and more for an albatross contract.... What a retard.
  7. Looks like his arm action slows down for the curve a bit, but other than that... Very free and easy.
  8. I think the Astros are going to spend a decent amount in the upcoming years, there's rumours now they have 40-50 million of money to play with in this offseason if they wanted to spend it. Not that anyone worth anything would sign there this year, but in a couple years just like Pittsburgh in the past few years, you might see guys willing to go there
  9. So Miami gets what 40 million handed to them next year while spending what 20 bucks on his team's payroll? f*** Loria and the system that allows that s*** to happen.
  10. True, there's Nathan, Benoit, Rodney, Balfour, Mujica, and to a lesser extent for dem savez... Crain and Wilson all on the open market right now.
  11. Nah, not my thing. This early in the offseason, I could probably throw darts at a dartboard and be just as accurate as putting thought into it.
  12. Right in the tweet... "Arencibia, who has drawn interest from other teams in trade talks..." Make no mistake, catchers with 30 hr potential will always get picked up by teams that want to be the one to figure out whatever his problem is. Same with pitchers who throw 95 with little command.
  13. Lind 58 wRC career vs LHP, loney 83 Lind 125 wRC career vs RHP, loney 113 It's really not that big a difference overall, but clearly both of them are no better than a platoon bat that should only face RHP, and if that's the case where you're going to get a lefty masher platoon partner, you might as well stay with the guy who hits RHP better.
  14. I skimmed through all the threads and didn't see it, maybe I didn't skim closely enough
  15. http://www.sportsnet.ca/baseball/mlb/anthopoulos-blue-jays-cabrera-looks-great/?shawct=1
  16. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/twins-joe-mauer-moving-catcher-171420787--mlb.html Doctor's said that was best for him, so they are doing it.
  17. Chris Young would fit that description, plus he can play all the OF positions and will be relatively cheap-ish.
  18. Keeping in mind AA's policy about keeping stuff private and in house. Not hearing rumours about the Jays is not a surprise.
  19. #1, but make your words move slower and fix the weird sentence structures.
  20. You need to brush up on anatomy. All those tendons and ligaments in your forearm run through your elbow. It's all connected
  21. TO be fair, if he'd chosen football, he'd probably be as roided up as they all are and would fit in just fine. Guys like Lawrie could probably have chosen any sport they wanted and played at a high level.
  22. I heard the Jays were in on McCann at 3/45 with 2 club options for 15 each again, 1m buyout.
  23. Yeah I don't even think Selig can try and spin the QO system into anything resembling a competitive balance system. It's just a way to try and keep salaries lower
