  1. Jesus....
  2. Was thinking the same thing, but gibbons puts in Loup on back to back nights rather than going with a fresh arm...
  3. Probably yes. Interesting fact, there are 34 pitchers(with minimum 30 PA) with a higher WAR than JPA, using nothing but their hitting and defense numbers.
  4. The jays are going to be in the 140 million dollar range as it is with very little personnel changes due to raises of existing players, so unless they are able to save significant money via trade, expecting huge additions with even 150 million payroll doesn't make much sense.
  5. Jesus ever living f*** people.... 48 pages on an org guy. Everyone ban yourselves immediately
  6. Nope. Dead arm for Rogers is a very real possibility.
  7. He's close to 30 runs saved defensively this year. His previous best was 13 when playing CF for Philly. He is really benefitting from playing RF in Fenway.
  8. Zero need to waste an option year down the stretch, just wait until next year. I'd like to see him in AAA for a month or two as well. Now that they aren't in Vegas, I think spending some time against some Quad-a hitters will help develop him further
  9. The Reds just officially added Billy Hamilton to the 40 man roster after outrighting Villareal to the minors.
  10. If Bard was pitching like Romero it would be a giant improvement for Bard, that should tell you something.
  11. Already posted in the Around baseball thread.. and yes, he's vey likely done. He walked almost 2 batters per inning this season in the minors.
  12. Bard has lost it. You don't put up double digit BB/9 rates in AA after being a dominant reliever in the big leagues without some very serious mechanical or mental health issues.
  13. Neither of which should make a Jays fan happy.
  14. It only alters opinions of those who base their opinions on small sample sizes, smaller sample sizes, even smaller sample sizes. The chances of Goins being even an average offensive player in the majors after the kind of minor league career he's had is remote at best. Is he capable of making adjustments? Well sure, every player in the game is physically capable of making adjustments, but whether or not they are successful at it is another issue. So far Goins has looked like he's capable defensively at 2b, carries himself well and doesn't seems to be very awestruck by being in the majors, which is good. His numbers are a regression waiting to happen, with a .400 avg on a .460 babip, an unsustainable LD rate and no power whatsoever, which is bad. And the bad, very much outweighs the good.
  15. I know....just....wow
  16. Yeah that's what I was confused on, Spokane was ahead in the second half standings but the team who won the first half has already clinched the second half as well, and Vancouver is 1 game ahead of Spokane in the overall standings with 1 game to go, and they have the tiebreaker.
  17. Did they explain how that is possible? Not being a jerk here I just want to know how they figure it
  18. Are they not tied with Spokane with 1 game left?
  19. I still go with Spring Training, but add in April for the minors ala Jim Negrych.
  20. I doubt they make any additions to the 40 man unless they need to add the guy in the offseason to protect him from the rule 5 draft. Might have to add a catcher though if Jimenez is too hurt to come up. Due to the injuries, there's only 1 position player even on the 40 man available to come up and that's Gomez. The rest will be arms and maybe they DFA storey and add a catcher
  21. And I never implied that he was....
  22. You just know he's gonna burn the Jays in a big way somehow in the upcoming series with KC
  23. Just came down the pipe http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/baseball/blue-jays-extend-agreement-with-triple-a-buffalo-through-2016/article14031784/
  24. You mean like stating that Kalfus is a switch hitting version of Mike Trout? I can only hope that was tongue in cheek.
