    It would be for sure. you never have to worry about mistakes or injuries since you can just buy your way out if you need to. Not that the Dodgers make a lot of mistakes honestly.

    Look at his 2020 splits. he was pretty much equal in all fields. In 2019 he was pull-dominant until it was a high leverage situation, then... spray hitter, and hit like dogshit. I'm betting his quote was moreso indicating he plans on continuing his pull-heavy approach in all situations from 2021.

    I actually think they Jays should take it one step further. If Cleveland is so hung up on getting Manoah, say... fine. You can have Manoah, Moreno, Biggio and Kirk ++ .... we get Bieber and J Ram. Go all in like a boss - and still have Groshans and Orelvis in the fold.

    Very true. Just saying that his good year vs a Biggio good year is pretty significant for a team that's trying to get over the 95-ish wins threshold. By no means is trading for him needed, but to think that an offer of Pearson, Kirk and Biggio would even come close to getting a deal done is pretty silly. (not your words, i know). Plus, when talking about this trade vs the Olson trade and trying to compare... gotta remember that different teams value different players and prospects differently, not to mention that Olson is a 1b, vs a plus defending 3b (or 2b i guess) with roughly equal offensive output. That's a pretty big difference.

    The difference between J-Ram and a comeback version of Biggio is pretty significant. Ramires is a 6-8 WAR player. A Biggio comeback year would have him between 2 and 3.

    You forgot Hatch, Thornton and Kay. All will be in the mix for sure though I don't know what their option status is

    TODAY: Bauer’s administrative leave has been extended another month, through April 16 (Jorge Castillo of The Los Angeles Times was among those to report the news.) The timing ensures that Bauer will miss at least the first week of the regular season.

    He probably needs less than 2 weeks to get his timing. That's really all hitters need.

    Tampa isnt dumb with their money though, they probably felt like adding 25 million for Freeman, while having Franco around at a reasonable rate would be the next step to the title. They're already a playoff team, and adding the final pieces to get those playoff Ws doesn't come cheap.

    Yeah, that might be what the report was alluding too when they said he had an offer that would have given him more money, but turned it down to go to SoCal.

    I give the edge to Colorado, because they have money and they're still incredibly dumb with what they do with it. That's no tto say Cinci hasn't made some dumb money moves, but their ability to be dumb is restricted by lack of money. If Cincinatti had Colorado money, it would be a tie.

    The Rays apparently had a decent offer in to Freeman also, 6/150 accoridng to the talking heads on MLB network.

    That's kinda the perfect way to describe that team. it would not have shocked me in the least to have heard of Donaldson having hit someone with a folding chair.

    I don't think anyone here is ripping them for being *******s. most of us here could give a flying f*** as long as they can play baseball well. I think it's just moreso giving credit to Gibbons for managing the massive egos in that room and what it must have taken on a daily basis to ensure they all co-existed without killing each other

    Colorado's owner just cant stop from punching himself in the dick. It's comedic how bad he is at his job. But, at least he's willing to spend money.

    Weird fact. If we assume all projected salaries for arbitration players for Cincinatti are accurate, the 6th highest salary with be paid to Ken Griffey Jr.
