Sure, but using that as an example doesnt really equate to baseball, the sport is far different from a physical perspective than hockey, the NBA or football.
A ball player would have nearly 0 need to do the kind of thing hockey guys do between innings or after the game (maybe the catcher's would benefit a bit as they're always in a squat?).
look at Thor as an example. Dude went off the rails a few years ago and bulked up in his upper torso, and is now as ripped as can be as a pitcher, but him building all that muscle in the upper half of his body in the arms makes no sense from a pitching standpoint. Pitchers want strong cores and legs ( i know you know...) but for their arms they want long and lean muscles. He bulked his muscles up, and is now a shadow of his former self, laregly due to injury after injury that he suffered after he changed his body in a way that is counterproductive to the motions he uses as a pitcher.
MLB guys during the season (imo) should be far more concerned with maintenance than doing anything to change their bodies in any meaningful way. If Manoah or Kirk want to lose weight, they absolutely should, but they need to do that s*** in the offseason and then switch up their regimens to a maintenance thing during the season. The season is way too long and way too much of a grind to be worried about calorie surplusses and/or deficits on a daily or even weekly basis.
