  1. He’s past 5 years of service time now, he could refuse being optioned to the minors at this point even if he does have options left.
  2. Cots contracts has him as a FA for 2024, Sportrac has him as a super 2 getting Arb 4. Looks like cots is wrong since his service time at seasons end will still be less than 6 seasons. Weird they have a basic mistake like that
  3. He’s definitely a big part of the problem. I’m not sure how to explain the questionable approach that we see up and down the lineup though. Team ISO is 16th in MLB at .159, and with the hitters on this team that is just not where it should be. This team should be pushing .170-.180 Yes, losing Teo hurts that a bit, but more impacting is multiple players vastly underperforming their talent levels.
  4. No doubt at all, especially given his FA status at the end of the season.
  5. Call me crazy, but I think I picked up on Bowden tipping his breaking balls and I think Minnesota picked up on it also. The first few hitters were dispatched quite easily but after that it looked to me like they had the timing down on both the slider and the curve pretty much perfectly. Almost like his body in his delivery as just a bit more upright when he threw the breaking balls vs the fastball. First three batters he faced struck out, and got 4 swinging strikes. Then, of the next 7 hitters he faced he recorded exactly 0 swinging strikes, and gave up EVs of 100.4, 99.9, 103, 98, 100.5, 104.5, 74.2, 94.2 and 91.1. Especially after the Jay Jackson situation if I were the video guys I’d be really looking at Francis’ video from today to make sure he didn’t have something giving away the breaking balls I also acknowledge this could be nothing more than a 10 batter sample size being weird
  6. Holy s*** Varsho…just foul
  7. Could really go for a chocolate milkshake right now…
  8. Probably. Figured since they were playing Minnesota nobody would notice low scoring games
  9. Bowden Francis touches 98 now? Wtf
  10. Nice curveballs…no real hump coming out of his hand either, it should tunnel nicely off the fastball
  11. Wasn’t even close….no need to protect the eyeball level espy…
  12. Also helps that Marvin Hudson is a terrible ump. 25th percentile accuracy among umps.
  13. Hmmm….Maybe being burned this early in the game, not sure I’m a fan of that
  14. Hopefully, having 2 guys Day to Day would be pretty rough to manage
  15. I’m glad he got the run in, but …I’m still not super happy with that swing decision. That’s the kind of pitch he should be taking TBH. It was high and borderline out of the strike zone.
  16. Well, Belt to the IL imminent…Clement probably going to be recalled.
  17. Can’t imagine he’s coming back out for the 4th but those 3 innings from Richards were sexy as f***
  18. Heh, the voters will never live that down. All star Espinal…
  19. Sure, but you’d think Biggio would be the better option against Ryan.
  20. Just a guess, but maybe they’re thinking with Ryan out there for the twins and a pen day for the Jays it’s going to be another low scoring tight game with a premium on defense.
  21. Bichette - 2 Point - Varsho - 4 Points - Springer - 4 Points - Belt - 4 Points - jaysblue Vladdy - 6 Point - Abomination, JaysAllMighty,Dylan, Omar, JFD, JohnHavok Chapman - 6 Points - wilko Kirk - 8 Points - Jonn Merrifield - 12 Points - Spanky Espinal - 14 Points - Candy Maldonado, WryNGinger Off the bench: 20 Points - Sure, I’ll join the Vladdy parade
  22. 2 god awful PAs with bases loaded. That was sad
