  1. Happens alot when you make judgements based on a few ST plate appearances.
  2. Nah, its not robo umps, its learning to at least contact the high heater.
  3. Wow, very nice play by Vlad to make up for his stupidity on the bases. That was pretty sick
  4. That's just it though, you have to know he has a noodle arm and is likely to have the ball either cut (like it was early in the game) or thrown directly to second most of the time. Take the wide turn for sure but he was 2/3rds of the way to 2b. That's a bit too wide.
  5. Jansen smoked that ball with an xBA of .800. Unlucky
  6. If its the up and down part.. its the TV. Following on baseball savant this ump has been calling a very good game. No missed calls on any of Richards pitches.
  7. That's all offseason stuff and yeah probably a little during ST. He wont even see the pitching lab once the season starts. He'll get theory reinforcement from the pitching coach or roving pitching instructors throughout the season.
  8. he;s not working on sequencing in his first ST start. And if you dont think the Jays have guys that do exactly what you said, i dont know what you think these analytics departments and pitching lab guys do.
  9. DOnt have the stuff+ but here's the raw numbers from savant
  10. Bit of homerism there from the Philly announcers, that was only a HR in 12 of 30 parks. Lots of parks hold that for either a long out or maybe a double. Yankee Stadium comes to mind. Excellent outing though despite that solo shot.
  11. Will definitely be susceptible to walking guys when he loses that release point, but there's no doubt about the stuff.
  12. Avg 96.5 with the sinker, 83 with the slider, 85 with the change. Lots of velo separation, and disgusting break on the slider. Please be healthy... please be healthy,...
  13. Hitters better be running hard on fly balls to left today.
  14. Tiedeman is nasty. 82 mph slider to 98mph fastball. Filth
  15. Gonna be an interesting day in the OF today kids.
  16. Really does look like an opening day lineup against RHP. and pretty much in the order youd expect.
  17. He's actually pretty split amongst the mouthbreathers. Some focus solely on his debut first week or so and think he's the best thing since organized religion, and the others focus on the 0-30 or whatever it was that he finished with and think he's a complete bust and isn't deserving of oxygen.
  18. That and there's been 0 trade rumours involving Slater and Espinal other than random Jays bloggers making up trade targets
  19. He;s really raked in the minors since joining the org, and yeah, he was always seen as a capable defender. I think its just that he's not in the same league as KK or Varsho. He's never had an extended look in the bigs though. Maybe the Jays get lucky and some team will offer them a capable 4th OF that hits RH for Lukes/Espinal or something. He still has options though so its not even that big of a concern, can still stash him in Buffalo
  20. Indeed. He's not enough better with the bat than any current OF to warrant the downgrade in D. The only guy he might have a case with as being maybe better with the bat is KK unless Varsho really sucks again. Like...I dont even see him as a league average hiiter. Maybe 90 wRC+
  21. Lawyers are no fun...
  22. Horse steroids are the new black i guess.
